I'm doing the Vahtacen's Secret quest in Oblivion and I keep getting my butt kicked by a damn wraths. What is the secret to killing those critters? I also had a lot of problems with a wrath in another quest with a ghost ship. I still haven't beated that one yet either.

Silver weapons and destructive magic should do the trick.

Yeah...my backup weapon is a bow (Hatred's Soul  ) and it doesn't seem to hurt them as much...

I tend to use Shock and Fire damage based spells...seems to work..then again, my spell does 300 dmg per whack, so it could just be the complete over poweredness of my character...

The staff you get when you are allowed to enter the Arcane University did the trick for me... I chose the one with the Shock enchant...

I "emptied" a few houses, sold the items to my fence, re-charged my staff and went in "guns blazing"...! I admit it's quite costly that way (recharging easily costs 3000 g), but the quest will be a breeze...

Yeah Shock is the way to go. In the Imperial City there is a staff shop. A staff called something like Apophis is available and does hella damage for when you are up against baddies that you do not want to go toe-to-toe with.

The staff in question (I can't spell the stupid thing either) does equal amounts of Frost, Fire and Shock. That's good, but againced the undead frost damage doesn't work.

Well it does 33 fire, 33 shock and 33 frost...so only 66 per hit instead of 99!

    Still good methinks! :D
