    1. out of Long Swords and Bastard Swords, which has the better enchanted variants? (Equaliser, Foebane etc.)

    2. I'm considering getting the Tactics mod, since I'm bored with fighting the same old battles over and over again, but I'm put off by what a lot of people say about it. Is it really that hard?

    3. Which would you consider superior out of Berserkers and Barbarians?

    1. Throughout the entirety SoA, definitely Long Swords. In ToB, Bastard Swords, although the Long Swords are certainly nothing to sneeze at. Long Swords will provide you greater flexibility throughout the game, but as far as top-shelf uber-weapons go, Bastard Swords really come into their own in ToB.

    2. Yes and no. Yes, in the sense that the first time you do Tactics battles you will get pwned. However, just like you discover certain "tricks" to get by certain enemies in the original game, you will again find "new" tricks to get by the hardest enemies.

    3. Barbarian - see my post in your previous thread regarding different berserking abilities. Not to mention that with a Barbarian, there would be no reason to not become specialized in both long swords and bastard swords, thereby receiving the best of both worlds.

    1. If I had to choice I would go with long sword because Fobene is really the only top notch bastard sword there is. While there are a whole unch of good long swords.

    2. I agree with Aldeth.

    3. Berserker if you got the improved grand masterry patch otherwise I'd say that its a draw. Simpely because berserkers can use some good items that barbarians can't.

In SoA, long swords rule. In ToB, there is only one longswrod, and 3 bastard swords.

    In SoA, you can get:
    Longswords:
Long Sword +4 - The Answerer
    Long Sword +3 - Blackrazor
Long Sword +3 - Blade of Roses
Long Sword +3 - The Equalizer
Long Sword +2 - Adjatha the Drinker
Long Sword +2 - Sunblade: Daystar
    Long Sword +2 - Dragonslayer
    Long Sword +2 - Namarra
Long Sword +2 - Ras, The Dancing Blade
Long Sword +2 - Sword of Balduran
Long Sword +1 - Flame Tongue
Long Sword +1 - Sword of Flam

    Bastard Swords:
Bastard Sword +3 - Blade of Searing
Bastard Sword +2 - Jhor the Bleeder
    Bastard Sword +1 - Albruin
Bastard Sword +1 - Taragarth the Bloodbrand
Bastard Sword +1, +3 vs. Shapeshifters: 'Kondar'

    **********

    In ToB:
    Long Swords:
    Long Sword +4 - Angurvadal +4 (upgrade to +5)

    Bastard Swords:
    Bastard Sword +4 - Purifier +4 (upgrade to +5)
Bastard Sword +3 - Blade of Searing
    Bastard Sword +3 - Fobane +3 (upgrade to +5)

In ToB, you can also get your vanila long swords and bastard sword +3 from pretty much any vendor.

On to the 2nd question!
I love Tactics. I haven't played a game without it for a very long time. Sure, the Improved Small teeth pass is insane with it's 3 dragons, and 'The Ritual' is really hard...but I enjoy the Improved Oasis, the 'Red Badge' poison based encounter, and the randome city/wilderness encounters make for a nice distraction. :thumb:

    1) Long swords in SoA and bastard swords in ToB.

    2) Never played Tactics so no comment.

    3) Pretty much tied, though slightly in favour of the Berserker.
