[IMG] I just dug IWD 2 out after not playing the game for about a year. I remembered that I had not finished the game the first time, but I could not remember WHY. I still had all my saves so I transferred them to my desktop and started playing from there. I quickly discovered why I stopped playing. I was in the firepit/timeloop area, and I can not move to the next day.

The problem is thus: After doing what needs to be done on the second last day, I walk up to the exit to the fields of slaughter and click on it with the "Change area" curser. Nothing happens. I can move to other areas just fine. After this happened I remembered beating my head against the wall until I was tired of the "squishy" sound trying to get past. I have referred to many FAQ/Walkthroughs. I am fairly certain that I have not missed something obvious, like not talking to someone. Again: the curser changes to the “change area” wheel after I talk to the King, as is to be expected, but when I click on it the party just walks there and stands around.

Given what I have read about other peoples problems, I suspect that I will have to back track a ways in order to get around this, I am just not sure how FAR to back track, or what to do the help ensure that it does not happen again.

I have re-installed the game, and tried with and with out the patch back when this first cropped up. For my current install, I installed the Weimer-IWD2-Ease-v15 pack. Previously I had no mods.

I have not yet tried any major "plays from an earlier save", though I do remember trying a couple last year. I don't think I went very far back though. I was getting pretty frustrated.

    Thank you all in advance.

This may be silliest idea that doesn't help at all, but it kind of sounds like a path finding problem - like you're trying to enter from the wrong direction. (The entrance to the fiery cave and the exit to the Fields are pretty close to each other, but there's a non-walk area between them.) If you did talk to the Archon fellow, had him take you to the exit and so forth, it has to be one of them bugs. Dragon's Eye's apparently full of those.

Thanks for the idea, but no joy. I was right on the zone area. I have thought up a solution though. I'm just going to look up the map code for the fields of slaughter, and am going to use the change map cheat to warp there. Simpe and effictive. I hope
