I must have the attention span of a gnat. I've never really gotten far into Chapter 6 before I decide to start a new game again on a whim. So I'm wondering how many times you've played through till the end and did you have any particular race/class combo that you seem to favor above the rest?

 

I've played all the way through unmodded about 10 times, and another 5-10 with Tactics and/or other mods (Ascension, NPCs). I tend toward sorcerer or other magic user classes.

 

I've played through 5 times and I've used a plain fighter, Avenger, Undead Hunter, Kensai and Barbarian.

I'm going through with a Kensai again.

 

let me see...

Kensai, swashbuckler, mage, sorceror, sorceror again, archer, solo sorceror, fighter/mage, wizardslayer, and my current Fighter/mage/thief.

Too many times...

 

Three for me, as Paladin, Thief and Fighter. All un-modded and straight through from BG1.

 

Zero times for me.

 

I've played through more than 10 times. No idea on the actual figure, just never bothered counting.

 

Probably about half a dozen BG2. ToB once I think. Maybe twice.

 

Kensai/Mage, Kensai/Thief, Fighter/Cleric.
Current run as Undead Hunter.

 

Berserker, Cavalier, Fighter/Mage and this time, Berserker 9/ Druid x

 

I've finished 4 times (I think), and probably another dozen or so that I stopped in Ch. 2

Egads! Ch. 6? You're almost finished at that point. Next time, try seeing it through.

 

I have never completed the game but the furtherest I got to was the expansion. I always go with a necromancer but I am currently a halfling assassin and I am enjoying backstabbing and trap setting very much.

I think fighters are boring but playing a wizard I always think it would cool to use xxxxx weapon but cannot due the the class restriction.

 

Once through BG1 and SoA with a Paladin, but didn't complete ToB.
4 years later, started BG all over again (much to girlfriends dismay but if she will insist on watching trashy soaps) with a Paladin now brought through from BG1 into SoA.

 

I've taken a Ranger through the whole series, a Fighter\Mage through BG, and started numerous SoA characters with whom I can never be bothered finishing.

 

Kensai, Mage, Sorcerer, Paladin, Monk, Thief, Barbarian, Druid, Fighter/Mage, Fighter/Mage/Thief, Mage/Cleric here. You get a lot done in several years' time. I've played with all of the classes, but only those all I've taken through SoA.

From all of those I definitely liked the Fighter/Mage/Thief and Mage/Cleric best. But then I have ToB, so the abilities and xp-cap differs a bit enabling me to enjoy the greater gains without getting stuck being a weakling in all of the classes.

Still I've always loved a character that could do a bit of everything, and bards just never felt good to me.

 

Lets see - I have finished the game as a monk, kensai, kensai-thief, swashbuckler, ranger/cleric, archer, sorcerer, anti-paladin, barbarian, and a wizard slayer. That would make it 10 times.

 

Try a fighter/mage then

 

I've actually only finished BG 2 twice: once as a Paladin, and once as a Fighter/Mage. I've started plenty of games, but usually stop playing those chars somewhere in chapter 3 or 4.

 

Thief and Sorcerer
I'm sure I will complete it with my current Ranger/Cleric though - I'm having heaps of fun.

My favourite was probably the Sorcerer, but I don't mind my Ranger Cleric as I have Tashia in my party who more than makes up for this (I love her riddles)

 

R/C is probably one of the most fun characters ive ever played, and VERY versitile....
