[IMG] How pure are you? Doesn't the sheer mentioning of the devious massaccre of THE BOOKS by Peter Jackson makes your bones chill? Can you still go to the movies without crying? Test yourself to find out!

as for me, of course, I'm a 100% Jimcalagon approved Tolkien purist!

    Purity rating - 83,3333%.

Why? Because I thought that the pic shown there was "from the episode of Xena where Joxer turns into a pigeon".

    Anyway, it says for me:
Almost true. I won't sell anything nor I'll see this Titanic2 mass mania.

I got 66.66666666% Tolkien rate. It says this:

You live, eat and breathe Tolkien. You are so excited about the upcoming films that you haven't slept since January 1999. You dress as an elf but are saving up to have 6 inches of bone surgically removed from your legs and a hair transplant on to your feet so that you can be a Hobbit. You speak exclusively in Sindarin and carry small cards with you with your English subtitles written on them.

You are upset that Tom Bombadil has been omitted from the film and are rather uncomfortable about Arwen's expanded part. However, you would sell your grandmother's dentures to see this film. I mean, you even liked the Bakshi version so you aren't particularly discriminating, are you?

Which is strange as I hated the parts in the beginning of the fellowship when the hobbits wandered around, one of the most boring parts of a book I have ever read. It is actually the only change that I am glad they did in the movies, Tom Bombadill is a weener. ;)

Ragusa! Chill! You'll give yourself an ulcer!
I was a 33.3 About me it said...
You have a passing acquaintance with "The Lord of The Rings" and are looking forward to seeing the film. You realise that, when adapting a book for the screen, moviemakers have to change some details, after all books and film are completely different media. As long as the film is good, that is the main thing, isn't it?

My God you are so unutterably reasonable and logical, always able to see other's points of view and taking the moral high ground. So bloody concilatory and open-minded. You are so calm and relaxed, you never get worked up or excited about anything. People like you make me sick!!!

I guess it's because I read the series after seeing the first movie....

    I got 50%

I answered everything in the way i truly felt so there must be something seriously wrong with it if it thinks i have a passing aqquaintence with the books. I am a very firm fan, I am just able to accept the word adaptation into my vocabulary.

33,3333333% same answer as tal and teekc though, and I am glad for it. I can't stand all those people comparing the movie to the book

I read the book thrice now, one time in dutch 2 times in english, and after that I saw the movies. And they were just plain great.

To all you people out there who think the movie sucks because "it's not entirely tolkien", get a more open mind :p , I think it's pretty sad if you ARE a tolkien fan and you DIDN'T enjoy the movie, because this movie goes right into the list of: Braveheart, Gladiator, Heat etc etc etc

I just tried the test and get a 75. But what the hell does it mean? The answers were so stupid that I just checked any of them. The test is whole stupid, meaningless and unserious.
My point of view is the film can't be as good as book and this is usual. Book allows you to imagine and create your own world. Film is good to see for effects, role-play performance and a little time of enjoyment.

I am a purist (according to the test) and I loved the movies, they are definitly not as good as the books, but then, little is.
And the test is rather crappy
