[IMG] Hey everyone, this summer from Aug. 3-12 Edmonton, Alberta is hosting the World Track and Field Championships, I for one can't wait. I'm not a huge fan of track and field, but something of this magnitude doesn't happen very often in one's home city.

I used to compete in track (mainly high jump, triple jump, but also a relay member) I'm not a great sprinter but I'm not deathly slow either. Anyone else follow or compete? If you're in the area this summer, keep an eye open for me - I'm the cool fellow wearing monk robes ;)

Did shotput and discus too, while at my senior high school year in the US. Discus went far better for me.
As far as other sports go, a year ago I became 2nd in the University in Greco-Roman wrestling and 3rd in Armwrestling.

[IMG] Sounds like some different style atheletes from myself. :)
I remember years ago when my coach just threw me into an event for a regional meet. Of course it was the shot-put. Yikes, I'm fairly tall, but everyone probably had about 50-100 lbs on me! Let's just say that I didn't break any records that day :)
