I'd download gatkeeper and use it instead. I'm not sure exactly what the trainer does, but gatekeeper lets you mess around with all the character abilities of your party members. You can find it on this very site and it's much easier to use. All you have to do is unzip it and I believe perhaps create a shortcut from whereever you unzipped it to to your desktop if you're so inclined. I think you may have to tell it where you've installed BG, but from there it will scan all your savegames and allow you to pick any of them to edit the characters. Here is the link the the download.

Also, you might want to read the FAQ. The site owner, Taluntain, doesn't like topics written in all capital letters. Here's the link.

Unfortunatley you are not the only one having problems using the Trainer (see the similar post a few days ago). Apperently there might be problems using it if you are not using the basic version of Baldurs Gate. I also have the expansion pack and a Third Party add-on so it won't run on my machine.

Anyway, the Trainer is supposed to work by unzipping it to your main Baldurs Gate directory (usually C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate). Once unzipped you will find a program file called BGTrain.exe. Double click on this to run it before playing Baldurs Gate and you should then be able to access the help functions, such as pressing F10 to get money. After unzipping, you will also find a file called CIFE.NFO. Open this in wordpad or notepad to read the (limited) instructions for the Trainer.

Finally, you might have noticed people in this post and the other, have recomended using the save game editor program Gatekeeper instead of the Trainer. This might well be useful to you, as the Trainer provides most of its benefits when you start a new game and create a character. There is only limited help once you have started on the adventure (and most of that can be accesed by using cheats anyway).

Anyway, good luck, let us know if it works for you.

[IMG] Gatekeeper is definitely the best character hack to have. It's easy to install and simple to use.

I remember way back i had that prob. It was because i was selecting the game to open in the telling it where my saved game folder was. So try telling it to just open the save folder in the BG files, and it may just show you a list of all the games you can edit till you're hearts content.
If thats not what the prob is, i don't have a clue how to help you out.
