Groan. That reveals more of Hogan's horrible movies than I ever wanted to see. I couldn't even get half way through the Mr Nanny comentary for all the pictures of bad acting. But please, don't get me started running down Hogan. I could do that all day and still not get tired. It was truly the one good thing Vince Russo ever did(other than sending home Luger, Page, Bagwell, etc.) when he sent Hogan packing. If everything else he did wasn't so terrible, I'd love him just for that

WWF sucks big time as well. WCW is miles better.

AND, the rumour is, hogan wanted to end his career in WWF, so he is looking to return at the Royal Rumble.

Hmm, I'll have whatever you are smoking, and double it. Maybe then I could sit through two hours of WCW Niquil. And don't even bring up the abomination that is Thunder. I think Vince Russo must have had multiple concussions before he even considered booking the stupid stunts that caused his last 2 or 3. I don't even think that Hulk Hogan or Kevin Nash, even on their best days, could swindle Bishoff into believing that Russo is half the creative genius that Russo thinks he is. Russo inherited a boring, horrible product and turned it into an interesting yet at the same time completely unwatchable product, and somehow still managed to continue to drive ratings and buyrates and merchandising and (well you get the picture) completely into the ground. Yes, well, when you put it that way, I guess Vince Russo does rule

And incidently, I've heard no such rumor, though I cannot doubt that Vince might be interested in him for a couple of big money matches. But why would Hogan want to go back to the WWF just to loose a couple of matches when his buddy ATM Eric Bishoff just bought WCW(well, he didn't, but he did swindle some people into doing so for him Go to www.pwtorch.com for details and commentary about that.

I watch WCW because of:

1. Vinnie Ru (creative genius, any1 is better than that arsewipe kevin Sullivan)

2. It is NOT racist, unlike WWF (Kaientai, LoDown, Will regal etc)

3. they do not sell themselves on a handful of wrestlers (Rocky Maivia, Jericho, Austin)

4. They don't throw all the mid carders into one group and call it 'right to censor'

5. They have hardly any face vs heel six man tag team matches

 

This is fun, probably the most fun posting in the whatnots yet. I now have extra respect for Hooligan_inc And hopefully is didn't offend you with my rants. Sorry, that's just the way I am. I do that all the time with my brother. I like to argue

Anyway, yes, anyone is better than Sullivan. I'll grant you that. Does anyone remember the Dungeon of Doom. Unfortunately.

Not racist? Need I even bring up the likes of Sonny Ono and Jung Dragons(Jamie-San, come on). And WCW is the one that started all the overdubed english crap WWF is using on Kientai. They used it first with LaParka. And WCW is the ones with a discrimination lawsuit on their hands.

No, not anymore they don't. They can't. And the WWF has lots of popular characters well worth watching. Edge and Christian, Hardys, Dudleys, HHH, Benoit, Angle, etc. However, they do need to permenately mix some more fresh faces into the main events other than Kurt Angle.

No, they throw them all into groups like MIA and Team Canada

And thank you god for that. I hate such rubish, but it keeps the WWF from hotshoting too many events on free tv. Sometimes they can be good, sometimes very boring. But I'd rather see a good Austing v/s Angle main like on last weeks Raw any day.

Hey, do you remember Ludwig Borga. How about Rocco or Jameson. Pretty terrible stuff. Shock Master and Yetti, ugh. Lots of fond memories from the past Cool site.

i saw Sin, well, heard about it. Road Warrior Animal is the mystery man! he was the person I least expected (besides Ludvig borga). It sounded so cool.

Goldberg lost straight. Come on Rock, If Goldberg can lose w/out a screw job, surely you can.

Team canada and the MIA are not just jobbery mid carders. they are very talented and they feud excellently (in my opinion).

Jung Dragons are like shooters...they don't come out saying stuff like "We hate America" and castrating Val Venis.

the Blue Bloods (Regal, taylor Eaton) were very funny. They didn't take themselves seriously. when Taylor ever got stressed he'd drop the upper class accent and switch to geordie it was hilarious

Good question. I think one of my favorites was when the pitbulls(circa ECW 95) used to come out on thunderkiss 69 by white zombie. But lately, hmm, maybe the older HHH music. I thought that was one of the better entrances the WWF has done. Or better yet was the Brood's/Gangrel's entrance and music. That's definately it. The lights, the music, the rising up through the fire ring on stage. Cool stuff. Even used that setup(sorta) for my halloween party in 99.
Can you guess the best thing about Sin: perhaps I will never have to see second string at best overrated Sid wrestle again. I know, that's a terrible thing to say, but I just don't care. Man that injury looked ugly, very ugly. And the stupidest thing about it is that I've seen guys weighing under 200 break something atttemting a similar move. And Sid tries to do it supporting about 300 lbs(admitedly the move he did was less dangerous though). They at least had a decent angle/direction coming out of the PPV, but it would have been better I think if they had just went ahead and made Rick Steiner the mystery man. Reminds me of Paul E with his mystery men angles that had no purpouse/story behind them.

Heh, but don't even try to down Rock for not loosing clean. He has and has put more people over the past year that anyone in his position probably ever has. With as many matches as he lost, you can't expect him to loose all the time cleanly

 

Yeah, will the thing about Paul E was...he was...well...HE WAS JUST A COCK!

My favourite entrance is Sting's lightning one...where it all goes dark and then the lightning effects happen and the laser effects and the fireworks go off...all to Metallica's 'Seek and Destroy'. great stuff. He doesn't use it very often though.

You know, now that I think about it, I have to give the Hulkster credit for one thing: he talked Eric Bischoff into buying the rights to Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Child. All time classic rock song, and great entrance music(even for someone like him )
I've been watching wrestling for that long. Don't know exactly, but that's about right. I watched a little before then, but I started getting into it during the early 90's(what bad timing, huh).
Hmm, my favorite wrestler? A couple of years ago, it would have been easy: Ric Flair. No question the all time legend. But even I've bad mouthed him lately, just hoping he would retire so he wouldn't be punked out by WCW management any longer. Incidently, that is where my dislike of that company comes from. I strongly supported and favored them for several years, up until Hogan and Bischoff started the "new" tradition of WCW wich mostly consisted of making possibly the greatest wrestler ever look like a fool, a looser, etc, etc. Since then, every booker that took the reigns has done the same thing, with the exception falling to Ed Farerra when he made Flair the CEO. That is where it really started.

Right now, though, I really don't have a favortite wrestler. Wish I did. Everyone has different things to bring to the table. Some were great for their time and place. Some are excellent entertainers, some great in the ring, some brilliant behind the mic. And in lots of different ways. Since I can no longer cop out and say Ric Flair is my favorite wrestler, I can't answer that question any more. But lets get more specific. As far as modern active wrestlers go, who do you think is best on interviews? How about in the ring work? If I just had to listen to interviews(out of context), I'd rather listen to the Rock, who gets exta points for persisting the Kevin Kelly is an ugly hermaphrodite. As a pure wrestler, I still like Benoit. There is just something about his style(admitedly more so in the past) that really ads a lot of believeability to the match. Lot of intensity. How about you.

 

Hmmm...Interviews, i would say Ernest "the Cat" Millar. he has a lot of talent and real chemistry with Gene Okerlund.

As for best tech, i would go with Dean Malenko. I don't think the WWF give him enough to do.

Ric Flair is like God. he had the best mic skills around

Hogan has mean't bad things for WCW ever since the yellow fag showed his face. Ric Flair doesn't look like a fool...he is in fact very charismatic and entertaining out of the wrestling ring (Whoo!)

I want Bischoff to bring back Chris Adams, btw

You always had to like when Ernest Miller told Mark Madden "I hate your fat ass!" Funny. I think I like above average Mike Sanders better on interviews. The Cat is much funnier, but you can understand what Sanders says. He and Shawn O'Haire are supprisingly good talent to be as green as they are. Storm's always good, but he seemed to have a better edge on the mic in ECW. Still, one of the best pieces of talent in WCW. Hopefully they'll showcase him right and not let Kevin Nash hit the boot to the face after Storm wins 3 more titles. Just had to bring that up as I was reminded of that Nitro monent this week. Let's see... Steiner(Scott of course) is always enteraining. Someone wrote this past week that his interviews are always so fun because it's fun to watch him stunble over four sylable words, but you don't want to laugh because your afraid he'll find out about it, hunt you down, and rip off your head.
Don't get me wrong. I didn't mean Flair was a fool. I mean they just portrayed him as such. Hmm, lets see... Flair coming out of the crowd in drag, Flair running around with a bunch of mental patients, a great world champion getting NO offense against Hogan, or Nash, or pratically even Brad Armstrong(yes I remember it did happen). Flair has been made to look bad by the powers that be in WCW so many times, I can't count. They've tried to bury him, but the fans still love the Nature Boy after all of it. Amazing.

 

Yeah, whatever crapy storylines they put him in he always retains his dignity. Same can't be said for Hogan though, lol.

 

Heh, did Hogan actually ever have any dignity? Probably not. HHH looked really stupid with that awfull jacket he was wearing Monday night. Hope for his sake they don't make him wear that all the time. Benoit is just a pure pleasure to watch in the ring. He is just a great wrestler, and has that rare ability to make his offense look so real. And it's nice to see that HHH didn't get to win the title from Angle at the Rumble. I smell a possible heel turn for Rocky in the near future, though I don't know how. Just got that from his interview Monday. Didn't get to see Nitro Monday. How was it? What happened?

 

haven't watched Nitro yet. Don't get it in the UK till about Thursday.

Benoit is great, but some of the stuff he said about WCW after he left apalled me. As for the Royal Rumble, my mate told me about it and it sounded alright.

What about Haku/Meng!! He's still signed with WCW! He's the hardcore champ! he's in deep shit now with Bischoff I bet.

As for Rocky, apparently he low-blowed the Big Show at the PPV, and JR didn't make anything of it, but when Angle did it later he went nuts ("How can a referee turn a blind eye to that! etc etc). the hypocrite

 

Eh, Meng/Haku sucks either way. Big afro wearing islanders do not interesting television make. He lacks any personality/skill/mobility/interest. Hopefully the WWF will get rid of him soon and Bischoff, lacking the money because he just signed Hogan to a 4 Million a year + incestives + his own personal stake in WCW, won't be able to hire him back.

Nitro came on Tuesday night this week, so I watched it last night. Seems like everyone has gone to wearing black. At least team canada(without Mike Awsome's hockey hair) looks big time now that they've got rid of the red and white colors. Maybe the new regime will do something important with them. Even Rey Misterio looked decent(got rid of those stupid devil horns). However, any show centering around the likes of Bagwell, Luger, Nash, and Page isn't a good sign. At least Jarrett was thrown into the mix. But I'll reserve any serious judgement on Bischoff and Fusient run WCW until I see what they'll do.

 

MMM....don't be too hopeful. Bischoff said in his interview he would stick with old talent. Meaning we'll see a zillion more Hogan vs Luger PPV events with a Nitro where Sting gets leg dropped and Big-Boot-To-the-Faced.


God. I might have to watch WWF again (not).

 

Oh the humanity of watching great t.v. Heh. I don't trust Bischoff as far as I can throw him, mind you. His quotes are as vauge and cryptic as Elminster in BG. But judging from his interviews so far, there is a lot of talk and a lot of room for interpretation, but he really doesn't say anything. Bunch of smoke and mirrors. I can only hope he learned his lesson from the first time, but I'm hardly that hopefull. His elite group of faces like Nash, Page, and Rick Stiener don't help much. But I'll gice him a couple of months, or until Hogan comes back, whichever happens firt
