Trouble with FFX-2 (PS2)

    I've been having problems with Final Fantasy X-2. Not problems playing the game, not problems advancing the plot, just problems getting the damned thing to work. When I first bought it, it kept bringing up a disc read error, just like some PS1 titles, though it would work if I ran it with the console on its side. However, it would sometimes, without any discernible reason, crash and freeze. So I returned it for another copy. It never crashes anymore, but now I can barely get the game to run in the first place! Unfortunately, I can't return it again, since the store had a one-switch policy, but I was wondering if anyone else has ever had similar problems with the game?

    nope my copy works fine, at least up to chapter 3. where I started to hate the game and stopped playing.

    Perhaps you need a new Playstation?

    I had to get a new one, because my old one just didn't work anymore.
