I've been playing BG1 via BGTutu and one thing I've noticed is that swords don't break the way they used to. In the original game, a sword would break every few days due to the iron crisis and often strand you in the middle of a fight without a useable weapon. But with Tutu installed it seems that swords aren't breaking. Is this intentional? It *was* a pain in the original game though it fit in with the storyline.

Also got TOB installed though whether this makes any difference I couldn't say.

There are many bugs within tutu. There is another way of playing BG with BG2 GFX which might solve the problem but it is a bigger download and I don’t know where you could find it, I am sure I seen it in a thread in the BG section. Anyway, it is hardly a problem.

Do you Baldur's Gate Trilogy? I read that was a 650 MB download which I'm a bit reluctant to bother with even on broadband.

Anyway it's no big deal. Most of my characters have magic weapons now so their swords aren't breaking. I just thought I'd mention this.

I noticed this as well. There's a fixpack in the works, so hopefully a soltuion will be knocked out.

I assume it was because it's running on the SoA engine, and weapons don't break in SoA. I had not noticed this myself, but now that you mention it, the times that I did so through BG Tutu, I don't recall any broken weapons.

This got talked about in the Tutu forum (sorry, for some reason I can't connect to it & give you a pointer). Yeah, weapons don't break in SoA; they talked about how they might be able to simulate it by putting weapons on charges, but that's all I remember. Japeth et al are aware, they just really don't have a good way of dealing with it (kind of like the one-liners from commoners).
