1.dont make such long posts, too much reading from the same person and by the time you reach the end you have lost all intrest (thats how it is with me anyway)

2.JOKES ARE MENT TO BE FUNNY! dont take stuff so seriously everyone

  2. Dark Xan, I take it this topic is to be adverted to the Humour topic. If you've just been seeing those 'long' posts in Humour, you haven't seen nothing yet. And 2, some people are just touchy about some stuff.

Dark Xan: I could agree more. People take entirely too many things much more seriously than benefits *anyone* on the planet.

    When you're 'role-playing', that's one thing. Just don't role-play a 'terrorist', all the time...

You should not complain about long posts, as your post is just as annoying (if you can call it that). You have a lack of '.'s, and you have irritating short versions of words (plz).

I like mixing these two types of posts. Sometimes I write lengthy rants, other times on-liners. And of course I have that annoying status description after my name. It's a classic, and it has the habit of prompting others to do so, to some extent... :9

Just remember that not about not every serious thing you can make funny jokes.

About long posts, soemtimes you can't prevent to have long posts and when you can't concentrate yourself long enough that's a pity. At the other side, when you can say the same thing in less words it can be much clearer for the readers, and then both the poster and the reader have benefits of a short clear posting, the reader gets it and doesn't get bored by reading 2 pages of the same info and the poster is happy that someone understands what you say :)

I can go on for ages talking about this but I get your point, I stop here :)

i have a bad case of a.d.d. so long posts

are hard :) but as far as jokes are stuff

that is ment to make fun of something sad is

mean and wrong but stuff that is just a joke

like in the forum "humor" is funny because

there is no harsh words said about the

tragedy it simply makes fun of two leaders

btw: do you think i should double space my lines or not?

You are right, it is allowed to have humor but some jokes are just too bad....

Ah would you please use the full Width of the Forum and also not use an empty bar after each sentence you typed?

    1. How about if I make little tiny posts and then fill half the page with smiley faces? :1eye:

    2. Some jokes are not, in fact, funny. Like Kevlar's dating life, for instance. :1eye:

    3. Just wanted to prove that I can count higher than you. :1eye:

Dark Xan, you just said yourself that people have different opinions on what is funny and what is not, so that kind of makes your jokes are meant to be funny statement pointless doesn't it? After all, it is up the person reading the joke to decide if it is funny or not.
As for long posts and losing interest. Many of the long posts have interest in them, if you are interested in the topic of the post. Some even give back up to their arguments in debates on the boards, which is again very acceptable, and certainly welcome. So again, your request is kind of pointless. Some of the replies to posts need to be long, especially for 'debate' posts.

    thanks shralp

vermillion: yeah i guess your right about the request about jokes being pointless but what i was trying to get accross was that if someone post's a joke dont say its not funny because others may think it is. naturally people are going to have opinions about the joke but dont be so mad. of course if the joke is offencive to you personnally then politly ask to remove it

as for the long posts i can read posts that are interesting or telling a story or joke or something but when people reply to a posts with an opinion about the posts, and take up the whole page it gets boring so what i'm trying to say is to get to the point

That's right, can be annoying but for some people it's quite hard to say what they wanna say in just a few words.

At least I can say that the doublespace you use is VERY ANNOYING. Can you please stop that? When you have criticism, at least don't do something almost the same by yourself.

[IMG] I know that you're refering to my posts in the "Humor" thread too. I know that they are long, I know that they are boring for some, maybe even for everyone. If I could just sum up everything in one short sentence, I would. If I need to make a lot of explaining I can't just write 2 words and expect the one with whom I'm having an argument to know everything I wanted to say. Maybe I should draw fancy pictures so you can be entertained while you are reading?
No one expects you to read if you are bored.
But if I'm having an argument, then I would read everything that the other side has posted so I can reply in a normal way.

[IMG] Arabwel, I actually like the status you put after your posts... I enjoy your dry sense of humor and the way you poke fun at yourself.

eveningdrive, I find it absolutely hilarious that you've tried to put more than eight smileys in a post before. :D  :D

Never knew there was a limit. :p

Incidentally, the thing that annoys me most about posts is misspelling and other grammatical errors. Tal provides a spell-checker at the top right of the forum page... be nice if people used it occasionally. No offense to DragonRider, but I've stopped reading his RC thread specifically because I can't take the spelling errors.

Stupid thing to get irritated over, I know, but there it is.

awsome i never saw the spell checker. lol

and headbanger I only did that double space thing once i was just seeing if anyone liked it better or if it was annoying but know that i know its annoying i wont do it

elindil: i wasnt trying to be mean if thats how you took it and your posts are just fine i was reffering to some people who make long posts that repeat themselfs a lot, i've only seen one or two and they annoyed me

by the way: i created this topic on a day i was very frustrated because a lot of people posted and it took me a long time to read all of them
