I un-installed Unfinished Business immediately after the Bodhi dialog loop bug got me...I wanted to know if it was fixed, and also what the opinion of all the BG2 gamers who played it, had of it.

The Bodhi Hunt component has been temporarily disabled until it's original author gets a chance to fix the bugs.

Meanwhile, I've updated UB to v4, with v5 coming out hopefully this weekend (knock on wood). Most, if not all, of the bugs present in the initial release have all been fixed.

 

Really, I think that UB is an excellent paece of work.

Kudos for its brilliant creators!

 

Thanks for the info Icelus, I'll be getting it ASAP then! I really liked the concept of UB, but because of the bug, I had to pass it up...well, I'm going to be starting up a new Stalker, and I suppose UB is going to be in my new game now!

 

Anyone knows of solutions to UB?

I have to say UB contains the only quest that has made me laugh out loud - "Where oh where has my little Boo gone?"
I can't beleive they took that out of the game! When minsc became so despondent he couldn't carry his armour i laughed so hard i couldn't play! It was a real fun mission, and the reward at the end was just the icing on the cake! As this is my first time through BG2 i don't know which missions are UB and which are "vanilla" BG2 which i suppose is a compliment! just one question, is dialogue "rescued" from somewhere in the game code or is it written by the UB team?

 

A little of both, actually. We try to use as much original dialog as possible (and there is a ton). Most of the dialog for the Minsc quest was written by David Gaider himself and posted at the Attic forum. Cliffette used as much of it as she could and added a bit of her own to fill in the gaps. The Suna Seni quest was one of the hardest as we had very little to go on. Most of that dialog is written from scratch, as is much of the quest. We only had hints that she was supposed to appear in Spellhold by looking at various scripts that are in the game, as well as hints in some of the other NPCs' dialogs. She was to play a much larger role in the Valygar Romance that was cut.

Future large components will likely contain more custom-written dialog. Our goal is to keep the dialog as true to the character as possible, so hearing that some of the quests flow evenly into the game is a great compliment.

 

@ Icelus: the Minsc Quest seem very fun but I cannot seem to get it to work...
Is it an occurence that starts at a certain place or is it due to a timer?

Anyway, the Suna Seni quest, what is it like? Where can I find her?
Or does she appear when I agree to take part in the Tolgerias mission to capture him?

PS: Is she a really weak character, I mean, in the actual game, the Suna Seni I know is a slaver and is easily killed. She drops a short sword, Arbanne.
With the effects of UB, is the short sword still in her possession and must I kill her in the end to obtain it?
Or is there another place where I could find it?

 

The Minsc quest will begin after you have been in the Docks district for at least two minutes. As soon as you move to another area, it should kick in...

There is no longer a reason to kill Suna Seni in UB. She will always be in the Copper Coronet, unless you have begun the search for Valygar (in which she will help you). She will make at least three more appearances as long as Valygar is in your party. No Valygar, no Suna. If you do keep Valygar in your party, you will meet her before you leave Spellhold and obtain an upgraded Arbane Sword...

 

Wow! An upgraded Arbane? That's great...
I don't really know about anyones preferences, but having a thief character, I think the Arbane is one of the Greatest weapons I have used...

No spoilers, please, but does the Kalah component play out differently depending on whether Aerie is in the party? (I suspect not, since apparently the circus tent doesn't have to be done for this component to work, but I'd just like confirmation.)

 

Not to my knowledge, no. I'll check with Andyr, who wrote that particular component, to find out for sure.
