It is because of things like this there is an obseity problem in America. I can't even do this adequate justice by describing it - here's the link:

    1400+ calorie, 100+ g fat burger

Does only the U.S. produce stuff like this. Do we have crap like this in Europe and other countries as well?

I wonder if you can super-size that?

Of course, the main customers for that crap will be the lard-asses who need it least.

I saw that in the paper yesterday. It doesn't even look tasty!

Y'know, I once made a 7-layer cake that was supposed to serve either 12 or 16, and each serving had 1,420 calories. If I'm gonna eat that much of anything that's a pure indulgence at one sitting, the choice between Death by Burger and Death by Chocolate is an easy one!

Considering a man can only eat 2500 calories a day it wouldn't be wise to eat two of those babies :D

Sheesh, It's not even all that big, only about 2 1/2 quarter pounders worth of meat.

    Damn it looks tasty.

A double whopper with cheese is 932 calories so not a whole lot of difference.

I think there's a Restaurant in Leeds that does a 32oz burger, but that may be a student legend.

It's missing the green stuff, me thinks, and I do not really like of bacon in hamburgers. Somehow it looked like it was having a flu or some other sickness... :hmm:

They go together like that quite frequently over here - almost every restaurant that serves burgers will have some sort of a bacon cheeseburger on the menu.

Heck, that is nothing compared to our average hotdog or sausage (which I suspect would be found to contain some beef, pork, chicken, rat, raccoon, insects, maybe some moose if one was hit on the Trans-Canada Highway recently etc.) ;)

I may sound fat saying this, but I would have to at least eat the burger once before I start judging.

Then again, I have always wanted to eat a 6 foot sub by myself. Imagine eating a sandwhich almost as big as yourself.

@Shrikant - Bacon cheeseburgers are extremely common in the U.S., so it's not just a Canada thing. Not only restaurants, but every fast food chain has them too - McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc.

@Jaguar - I'm only judging the burger based on the health issues. I am not condemning the taste. I agree that I no doubt could eat one of those burgers, and I probably would find it quite tasty, I just don't think it's a sound decision from a health perspective.

There's nothing wrong with a bacon burger, per se. They are also very common in New Zealand. The problem is that this one seems to be especially calorie rich.

But at least beef and bacon are real foods. A much bigger health concern in the USA would be pure junk like that deep-fried Mars Bar.

Also, Apeman, a man can most definitely eat more than 2500 calories a day! Highly active athletes would eat more than that, especially if they were in a muscle building phase of their training.

I could do with more calories. I'd prefer my calories in the form of carbs and protein though.

I agree with everything Jaguar said, even down to the 6-foot sub fantasy.

Holly crap, that looks good! Just without the Mayo. :thumb:

Personally, I like the "Big Montana" sandwich at Arbys. It's 3/4 of a pound AFTER it is cooked....not before, like every other fast food place out there does. :yum: :rolling:

Mayonnaise? MAYONNSISE?! They just ruined the damn thing. Stick to the classics, ketchup and mustard or BBQ sauce (when you have bacon). Mayonnaise is for salads and chicken.

And this coming from a junk-food junkie... a 60kg (about 130 pounds?) junk food junkie.
