Using books to increase stats.

Hey, I was trying to up Aerie's stats in Wisdom and Intelligence to 18 because I was getting tired of drinking potions of Genius just to add spells to my lists. Boring me, I know.

However, I can't seem to create a second book. I make one of each, and any others I make won't even equip into quick slots.

I tried doing the "book06a" thing, and it didn't exist. Is there ever only one kind of each book in the game?

 

CLUAConsole:CreateItem("book06",15)

This will give you a book with 15 charges -- at least as long as they didn't change anything from the original BG.

 

Hmmm I'll have to try that..

though, for information's sake, I'll only be using two charges.. of course, noone would believe me LOL, thank you.

well, the Tome of Understanding (+1 Int) works, but the Tome of Clear Thought never does. Strange.

 

If you want to preserve some illusion of legitimate stat increase, just create the books and add them to the first shop you think of

Edit: INT 18 is only 85% to learn a spell. You'll need 20 or more.

Just set the difficulty to Normal and she'll learn spell automatic.

 

actually, it was Amount of spells/level I was going for....

where is this Shadowkeeper then? I keep hearing about it.

Yea, Pal is right. It's only one step further - difficulty easy. Once my brother played BG2 on my computer when I was playing too. He kept switching to easy for this purpose and always forgot to restore it. It's not good to go through the Temple of Amaunator and discover 'twas easy level.

But if you dont want to cheat, then just delete some of your less-use spell learn new spell. You wont miss some of them anyway
