How about reading the readme file?
In most of the mods a readme files is added in the .zip file which tells you where to put the files and such. If not, it usually says where you should put it in the place you downloaded it. Quite simple really!

Where you download them to aint that important.
Just as long as you remember where you put them.
Where you extract/install them to is what matters.
    As said, check the readme.

I'm seriously thinking that we should start calling the Readme "Ultimate XXX Site for Either Gender!". Maybe that would stop the 15 or so posts on various boards that I see every week asking things that are clearly stated in the Readme.

Read the install instructions in the readme file. Or, check to see where you extracted the files to (Your utility will tell you, after all).
