I downloaded this Valen mod some time ago, and now I have this two member fighting team, Me (fighter/mage/thief) and Valen. She seems to be quite powerful, and I'm still in Athkatla. I was just wondering if she becomes even more powerful, the game will be too easy. If someone has played Valen would you tell me should I kick her out, or keep her.

The Valen mod is very poorly balanced. You'll find that she kills most things without breaking sweat. If you want to compete with her in power, you could give yourself a permanent Black Blade of Disaster (see here for instructions on how to do it).

From what I have heard, she is WAY over-powered; if you still wish to have fun, give her a boot and uninstall the mod. :D

She is, but she does have her limitations.

    1. She is weaker in sunlight.
    2. She can be turned, and even destroyed, by the clerics turn undead ability. So be careful.
    3. She is bloodthirsty and can go on a rampage, so you need to keep an eye on her or she will get you in trouble.

I think she is great and good fun. I just wish you could do more with her.

There are various prices to be paid for Valen's power, including a party that hunts her down which is extremely difficult to defeat (and whom she is basically powerless against, so you have to do the dirty work for her.)

    @ jcompton:
I just got through almost every quest in Athkatla and was just about to trash the rogue encampment in search for Aran Linvail, when Van Helsing, Buffy, Kendra and Faith came after me. I laughed; What a good joke. Valen charged them, Kendra hit her three times and she was gone. I reloaded. This time I ran away and waited for them to run out of those true sight spells, but they are seemingly unlimited. Lvl 13 Fighter/Thief/Mage couldn't do much. I think I'm strong enough to complete the game without Valen, but my pride won't allow those pesky undead hunters to get my Valen without a fight.

    @ Bard:
Valen can be told not to attack people, and she does so if told, especially when you turn party AI off. That's not a problem. Even when in sunlight, Valen is too tough. She is nearly immortal when in gaseous form, which allows my caster to drop in a few stinking clouds and cloudkills. I stormed temple of Lathander last night and those morningknights and morninglords were not too much of a threat, even though they used those against-undead spells. In my opinion all those Valen's limitations are not big enough. She killed Firkraag all by herself, and Shadow dragon with few breach from my Mage.

    @ Chris Williams:
Valen is too strong. I'm not going to make my protagonist as strong as she is.

    @ Grin :
:D I think I'll do that. Start a new game without Valen.
