    Never mind Valentine's Day, I'm still gonna be paying for Christmas till April at least!

    +2 weeks = Valentine's Day + further 2 weeks = GF's 21st! Ouch. This is not a good year for my wallet.

    Actually, Valentine's day is a pagan holiday. Celts (and other pagans as well) used to have a big celebration with the best food they had, drinking, dancing and loving. The idea was to conceive the spring, so to speak. Then christians came and brought a story about st. Valentine.

    I really dislike Valentines day. Its just another holiday invented by the traders to squees another dime from us. Do you really need a special day to give your love a flower or something? It is not something that you should have to do because its february the 14th its something you should do because you want to and love the person you give something to.

    I'm doing what I should have done years ago, I'm making a t-shirt print, which will read:

    "love is
    suicide"

    Note that with the correct font, both lines are as long. I'm planning to wear that to school, and look even sadder than usual. It shall be fun.

    I've always looked upon Valentine's day as just another "Hallmark" holiday. I've never been a big fan of it.

    [​IMG] I don't see it as Hallmark holiday. The holiday seems to be doing it's job I know several people born nine months after Valentines Day. (I too have a special Aliengirl in mind.)

    [​IMG] Ever notice that it's mostly men who say they hate Valentine's Day? :hmm:

    I don't see what the big deal is. So it's just another day; use it to your advantage. It's a popular holiday, regardless of all the anti-Valentine feeling, and it's not going to go away. :p

    Besides, if you skip it just because you're a conscientious objector you won't be scoring any points with the one you love. And that's what it's all about, right? Make each other happy. Just because you don't *need* a special day to celebrate your love, doesn't mean you can't make the most of the one that's already set aside for it. It's a holiday for lovers. Celebrate it!

    when I girl would drop me for I don't like Valentine's day, I don't want her anymore...

    Valentine is just something that is founded by shops etc... fo rit gives a huge profit to many shops every year.. that's the only use it has and everybody is so stupid to do what the economy wants.... When I love a girl I don't use Valentine's day... I'm original and SURPSISES her... so on another day (else it's no suprise but very unoriginal)
