    OK, I just recruited Valy for the first time, but I don't plan on keeping him in my party. I basically just picked him up so that I can do the planar sphere quest, which looks like fun.

    Can I use him to get in the first time, and then ditch him, completing the quest later on? Or does Valygar need to be present everytime I enter the sphere?


    If I have him open the sphere, can I bring him to the coweled wizards afterwards?

    Once the Planar Sphere's door is open, you don't need him anymore.

    I tend to keep Valygar in the party, so I don't know what would happen if you turned him in after getting the door open. Try it and find out. Be sure to make an archive save first, natch.

    I killed him and used him body to open the door, but went to talk to the cowled wizards before actually entering. Then I told the cowled wizard he had to give me awesome stuff before Id tell him where I hid the body. He gave me some ring... I think it was a glitch because I returned to the sphere and Tolgerias was there, and when I killed him I got the same ring. Heh.

    BUT. To answer your question (heh, sorry), you only need Valygar to open the door. After its open, feel free to ditch him.

    I'm not sure but I think you can get three rings from him. Just pickpocket him when he is the Government district.
