[IMG] When playing "solo" how do you counter the Vampiric Fear some vampires use?

I have quite a hard time even using several summoned creatures since Resist Fear doesn't seem to protect and there also seems to be no saving throw against it.

This is my first "solo" game and I play a Kensai dual to Mage currently at Kensai-9/Mage-13.

[IMG] ... Or is it perhaps not Vampiric Fear that they use?

It is not easy to tell since the game goes into the well known end sequence after the vampire casts the thing I assume to be Vampiric Fear at me.

[IMG] Earl Gray (isn't that something Capt. Pickard prefers hot

Anyway . . . I got past that issue for my character by being a Cavalier. They can cast remove fear on NPC's and summoned monsters.

Once they get the Holy Avenger, the dispel magic feature works great agaist charm & confusion also.

Those benefits (along with minor healing skills) make them the best all-around package IMHO.

[IMG] Playing solo means I get no chance to remove spells like charm or confusion. There is noone around to do it for me.

After experimenting it seems like it's Domination the vampires cast so to counter it I'll use Spell Immunity and pick immunity to Enchantment (or Charm). That should hopefully take care of it. :)

My thoughts on Paladins is that Inquisitors are best - at least when not playing solo - thanks to their fantastic Dispel Magic and True Sight. But that's just my opinion.

Thanks for replying to my question guys!

[IMG] I read in the manual that a charismatic party leader positively influences the parties battle morale. Maybe you´re char´s too ugly to keep up your spirits?

    [IMG] ROTFL!

That could've been it you know! I'd be so ugly I scare myself. ;)

Sorry to say that's not it though. If it were it could be easily fixed by plastic surgery... aka Shadowkeeper.
