Various globes in Watcher's Keep

    Ok, so I'm a little behind the 8-ball on this but I finally figured out what all those friggin globes can be used for on Level 5 of Watchers Keep.

    This is in the room to the NW with four columns (blue, green, red and purple) where you get one of the keys. If you collect all four globes of each color, three of them have potion-like effects and one is used to put in the corresponding column.

    Below is what the globes do. These aren't necessarily listed in the order obtained.

    Blue
    Cone of Cold
    Protection from normal missiles
    Restoration

    Green
    Summon Shambling Mound
    Acid Arrow
    5% Magic Resistance (temporary, not sure how long it lasts)

    Red
    +1 to all saving throws (entire party, temporary)
    Fireball
    Healing

    Purple
    Invisibility
    Set strength to 23 (temporary)
    Mass Heal

    Some are pretty handy; some aren't.

    Doea anyone use those globes? I stick the first ones I get into the tube and take the key. I don't think these are useful enough to fight for.

    I do and perhaps more will now that they know what they do.

    You miss out on a lot of experience if you don't collect all the globes. With each globe you take in a particular color, you spawn tougher and tougher enemies. These mean more XP for you and your party.

    I was afraid too, but the only way to find out what they did was to step up and try them. Like I said some are actually pretty useful while others are rotting away on Level 5 of WK. :D
