    [IMG] I'm about to buy NWN for the 1st time. But man, I see at least 4 diff' version out there! "Gold", "platinum", "diamond" etc.. What gives??

    What're the big differences between them?

    Does it use 3.5 ed. rules?

    Thanks!

    There are three basic campaigns in NWN: the original one, Shadows of Undrentide, and Hordes of the Underdark. I would buy an edition which includes all of these (like the Platinum one). You should be able to buy it for something like $30.

    I think the Diamond edition includes some extra premium modules (which typically you could buy for 8 bucks apiece). They did not look so interesting to me; but if it's not more expensive compared with others, you could as well buy this one.

    Gold = NWN + SoU
    Platinum = NWN + SoU + HotU
    Diamond = NWN + SoU + HotU + Premium Modules

    In short, Diamond's the latest and the best value for the money, but only available in the US as far as I can tell.

    I don't know if Diamond is available in NZ, but I have definitely seen a box called Neverwinter Nights: Kingmaker, which includes those three main 'premium' modules. If I ever get to finish Hordes of the Underdark, that Kingmaker set will probably be my next game purchase (maybe I'll get it for Christmas.....)

    I've seen Diamond in Australia, so it's about in locations outside the US.

    Of course I located it just after I bought Platinum.
