I currently have a rep of 18 and I really want to keep viconia, but if I get above 18, she leaves. I was wondering if there are any way to fix the problem? Either with a patch or maybe using something like shadowkeeper or IF explore.

    Thanks

ive seen a patch the stops the whole viconia/keldorn problem, but not one that stops NPC's from leaving, just do a few quests evily, umm like the copper cornet, you can tell the owner of hendaks plans and u kill hendak and you lose 1 rep, then you can lose 2 rep in trademarket.. and i think u can lose 1 if you do everything wrong in Umar hills, or u could change into a slayer.. or almost all the town quests have a way of doing things evily.

Why does everybody want Viconia? She has very low hitpoints and do you all play with evil main characters or something like that?

There are some quick and simple things you can do to lower your rep. Killing an innocent for example lowers your rep by about 10 (depending on your current rep), I think being caught stealing also causes a smaller drop. Can't remember the exact details as they are not shown in the manual (unlike in BG1 which gave exact details). Anyway, with Viconia there is another way. You can drop her from the party then immediately take her back. I've only done this once but it earned me another 2 point rep drop. OK it's a bit of a cheat and its probably worth saving before in case she decides not to come back at all! Also, because someone is bound to mention this otherwise, later in the game you (SPOILER) get a new inate ability that can causes a -2 rep drop.

As to why have her in the party - well it's always a matter of taste but here are some reasons: she is the best cleric in the game and gets some very useful spells (offensive and defensive), being a cleric she can wear armour, shields and a reasonable choice of weapons, once given a strength boost item (there are several in the game) she gets a reasonable thaco with melee or sling weapons and a great armour class (-12ac and -4thaco (I had no real fighters so she carried Crom Faeyr)), her 65% magic resistance is useful, she sparks with several of the other NPCs and she is a romance option (and a bit of a babe). Is that reason enough?

PS for more thought on rep adjustemetn look at :
