[IMG] I'm just about to finally load NW Gold. I admit I like to have a good walkthrough when I play games. Does anyone have any opinions on which one is the best for the original game and SoU?

Don't use walkthroughs, sometimes I post here for help if I am stuck but it is naughty! It is more rewarding figuring puzzles and stuff out by yourself ;d

What fun is it constantly referring to a walkthrough, you might as well not play the game

You enjoy the game the way you want to. I'll enjoy it the way I want to.

Just check the Games section here at Sorcer's Place. I believe that there are some for everything but HOTU.

I like walkthroughs although I always try and finish the game fair and square beforehand (the NWN games being exceptions because of the dire puzzles that I don't have the patience to struggle through). But as soon as I've finished the game, I download a walkthrough and have a look to see what I've missed.

    Hey Snook...

I don't like to use walkthroughs either, but I have found the the reference guide given here , helps without giving away the fun of figuring things out on your own.

    game on, snook

Well I must admit I was surprised that I didn't get any true answers to my question.

I ended up printing one from Orest (that I'm thinking will be the one I use) and another from Lyte It Up that will be my back-up. When I'm done with the game (will probably take months) I'll post my opinion of which one I thought was better to help the next person.

Someone already answered your question, there is like 1 million walkthroughs here on Sorcerer's Place. Look up ^ click > Games > Neverwinter Nights > Walkthroughs and there you have it.

Not to be snotty, but the question was "Which walkthrough is the best?"

I already knew where they were, I just wanted peoples opinions on them if they had used/read them.

The best one i think is on the www.gamebanshee.com You can not expect as good description as there was about the Baldur's Gate, but you can find the items in the reference, and the tale on the gamebanshee...

    Thanks Valer,

I still haven't had a chance to load the game, but that walkthough looks pretty decent. It might actually be an incentive for me to get that dual monitor set-up I've been thinking about :)

Shouldn't you at least *try* the game before you read the walkthrough?

The problem with the dual monitor set up and NWN is when you try to rotate the screen in the direction of the second monitor. Using the cursor to rotate does not work as the pointer will just move onto the other screen. If you exclusively use the arrow keys for rotation, this won't be a problem, but I generally use the cursor to rotate my view and it is a problem.

I think he's going to play the game on one monitor and read the walkthrough on the other?

[IMG] I going to agree with david w and partly agree with Sarevok.
Walkthroughs should only be used in absolutely desperate measures when there are no other options present that you can see and sometimes not even then.

I apologize, but this is starting to hit a nerve with me.

Why does anyone think they have the right to stick their nose in and critique the way someone plays a game that they purchased with their own hard earned money? Some of us live very busy lives and can't devote time to replaying a game 20 times to get everything out of it. Does my using a walkthrough somehow harm you in some way? Even if it did lessen the game form me, why does this bother you?

If you want to play a game without a walkthough, then good for you. I'm proud of you. If you want me to I'll send you an e-mail card praising you for your accomplishments. However, there are plenty of people, like myself, who enjoy using walkthoughs to help them get the most out of a game in one play through. If this troubles you, then it is too bad. To ease your troubles why don't you start up another game of BG2 and try to play that solo-sorcerer with a charisma of 5 that you have been thinking about.

Sorry about the rant, but I just got up.

I also still haven't even loaded the game as I haven't found the time. Hopefully, I can start before the summer.

Agreed. If someone asks for a walkthrough, either answer their question, or don't bother posting.
