The ankheg burrow. With a level 4 party you can be in and out of there within a minute and a half.

Pro tip: Jaheira has a potion of invisibility, Montaron has a potion of haste.

I always head for the Ankheg Burrow A.S.A.P. for the leveling opportunities...but the wand of fire and additional equipment is a nice bonus :)

If you want this for it's damage power, you have a better option. There's a Wand of Lightning you can get early on which deal much more damage to a target.

I think the damage power of the fireball to multiple enemies beats the power of lighting to one (or possibly more with a little stategic positioning).

I like the wand of fire because it doesn't bounce back and kill me, like it did the first time I used one. I thought "Wand of lightening, coo...nhf;khjf[asj" as I fried my whole party.

[IMG] There's also that wand of frost at the Nashkel mines entrance.

Incidentally, you can also buy a necklace of missiles at Nashkel Carnival, which functions the same way and can be used by any character class.

The same merchant sells a dirt-cheap shield amulet as well.

I want a wand of fire for encounters with large groups of skeletons and other pain-in-the-ass large groups of low hit point enemies. But mostly for the skeletons. I intend to kill alot of them in Highhedge for the free throwing daggers.

Ever tried out a cleric in sanctuary turning them ?
A fire charge is very expensive. Buying the throwing daggers is much cheaper.

There are faster ways to gain XP and money btw.

Yea, I know, but nothing beats toasting these annoying bastards and hearing them all crumble to the ground at once!
