[IMG] i can't use my right arm! :wail:

i had a kung fu black belt exam yesterday, which involved punching through roof tiles :square: and chopping through a brick, among other things.

read in vudolak's 'good luck' topic that kill_lexington had a competition recently. i also remember reading somewhere that sir bel practices karate.

anyone else been put through some serious pain or has injuries due to martial arts or a sport?

I once knocked myself out on a mountain bike crash . Managed to bend a pair of titanium handlebars accross my chest in the same crash...

My friend also managed to crash his car on the way to another mountain bike ride once (was in it).

Someone once crashed into my car when I was out mountain bike riding once too. hmm...

I seriously pulled my left groin in a football (euro, of course) match about a year and a half ago. It felt like the whole muscle was pulled off the bone, and I couldn't walk properly for the next week. I can still feel the injury some times, just by sitting in a wrong position. I will also always be afraid of running on wet grass.

And people claim sport makes you healthy... At times like this I'm glad I never understood what exactly is so great in kicking a ball in a net or breaking your arm on a heap of bricks.

[IMG] And who said biking was healthier than cars Christopher_Lee? In a way you do make it sound like a warzone :D

Edit; Well Volar Blackmane I don't understand why people eat. Think about how many choke in it. ;)

[IMG] VB- it'll be worth it (provided i pass). i mean, how many injuries d'you think you'll save yourself from in the long-run by mentioning that you've got a black belt? :aaa:

anyway, injuries don't occur that frequently, they're just REALLY inconvenient when you do get them :nolike: (it's taking me twice as long as normal to reply)!

CL- what, like "nice to meet you pretty lady, would you like to see the stump where my arm used to be?"

Well, I was in a taekwondo competition and in the final match I blocked a kick that dislocated smthing just a bit in my wrist.

I didn't feel anything at the moment but the next day it was hurting like hell and a few months to come, it hurt quite a bit when pressured.

PS: I lost the match grr

    I have my scars.
    None from sports.

I love them all. They bring me some memories... Nice memories. Not memories about pain. Pain is all gone by now.
Memories about some people who were around me those times in need.

I fell on my sword once. The sharp side. Ouch.

  13. I did a horrible thing to my toe in a scooter accident.

Other than that, never broken or seriously hurt anything.

[IMG] I crashed my bike into a ditch once when I was a kid and smashed my front teeth out on a windowsill whe I was about 2. Havent had too many problems so far in Taekwondo, although it hurt like buggery when my instep collided with my sparring partner's knee today. Hurt him too, though

I do WuShu Kung Fu and:

Ive had my tooth chipped at training camp on a rock.

Ive been hit in the the crotch with a pair of nunchuku (self-inflicted when I thought I was cool demonstrating).

Plenty of cuts and bruises generally from KF.

Pulled my hammy (ham-string not anything else ok) doing ballistic stretching (never again!).

Fractured my coccix (sp?) jumpimg a factory wall only to find an 8 foot drop on the other side, (dont ask - it involves being chased in the middle of the night by a man and is dog).

A big scar on my back by being pushed back onto a protruding metal grate, (it would look cool on my chest, just like Sagat from Street Fighter... well 'xept its not as big and not as ugly.. ok it doesnt look like Sagat's.)

Well thats 'bout it for now.

Well, when I was on eighth grade, I broke a part of my knee in PE lesson. I can't remember what it is in English. It hurt a lot and had to be operated. Later it became a wonderful excuse to not to go to school
Lately, the same knee is getting buggy again. Ouch.

Also, both of my ankles have been sprained repeatedly for years, and, as they were never treated properly, my ankes are swollen really often.
