There's something I get with games I've played multiple times, it rarely, if ever happens the first time I play a game (Though almost always to an album with an exceptional sound system accompanying it) and that is that I get emotional hearing the theme music, or the introductory music, I literally feel something in my throat and a pressure behind the eyes. Not an 'oh god, I'm going to cry at a loading screen' but a weird sense of starting something new and exciting.

What confuses me is I should be more thrilled playing the game for the first time, surely? Maybe it's the greeting of an old friend? First time I saw Kuldahar on my screens I thought "What a nice tree" subsequent times I saw it? Full enthrallment, I thought it was the most beautiful place I'd ever seen and I wanted to be there, even in all the cold and snow, I would have braved it just to be there.

Perhaps it is simply the autist in me feeling unecessary apprehension at the introduction of new sights, sounds and opportunities that the aversion to the new situation blocks the euphoria felt in subsequent runs. Perhaps it's a completely normal phenomina that I am simply over inflating.

There are so many comments on the IE games, wanting to skip the dungeon you awaken in captured and injured, clicking through the intro videos, tedium at old foes you beat for the umpteenth time and I look at them with alien interest, I feel a rush facing old foes, they feel new in my mind, each feeling fresh and raw like a new encounter. Rememberence of previous runs feeling like another time, another place or lifetime. It's almost like I cannot put the two together and realise they're the same story. Yet watching other people play or asked for help? I can recall the instance with the varied knowledge.

It's something only a game has brought out in me and I couldn't wish it any other way, I think. Perhaps some skill alongside wouldn't be a miss, I adore gaming, I'm just a terrible gamer!
