    Hi

Is there any added bonuses for continuing as a fighter apart from the bonus feat. One of my party is a lvl 12 pure fighter. Should I keep leveling up or add a another skill (Eg barbar)

How about sorcerors/clerics? How long should i keep lvling up?

    Thanks

Nope, no reason to keep going as a warrior once you have the feats you want. Barbarian levels(or paladins/rangers) seem to be indeed a better future.

Your barbarian have no reason to get fighter levels if you ask me, 1 damage reduction more is better then specialisation in my opinion for a tank, a barbarian job is to stand, not to kill, killing is a nice secondary job, not the main job of the barbarian...and the 8 HPS does matter a little for someone always on the battle line. My level 23 barbarian can reach 550 hps when he rage and have use the souless sword a little(hey, very nice tanking item sword...althought the mace that cast cure light on you 33% of the time you are attacked is sweeeeet as well), with the 15/+3 and a 5 from everything, been in the middle of a fight with many arrows on him is not a stress while my warrior is having a hard time even with the 15/+3 bracer...and my warrior job is to kill, not to tank, so rather have him wear the +1/+2 gauntlets then defensive item...I increase my barbarian STR and I regret it now...should have improve CON on the barbarian, that was a bad mistake from me, the warrior need STR, the barbarian need CON...bad bad choice I did...at least it is a dorf and have 20 at start.

For the casters, get them to 20 or 21, but IMHO, after that start a new class, anything is better then continuing. Fighters levels are never a waste if you are clueless on what to give them, as you will be able to get all the feats you want while gaining nice HPS, but you can developp any class(not to mention you will start to hit with that bow or those darts, but that is a detail)...I am trying to give druids levels to my cleric, this is a lot better then more cleric levels after 21, but not sure if barbarian or fighters levels would not have been better...yet the wisdom 32 kinda make you want to use it to your full advantage...

I recently passed the game with four characters... My second frontliner, who was the party healer was Shield Dwarf Battleguard of tempus 25/ Fighter 5... So I didn't see much point in puting more skills to fighter, because I got the master skill in axes, greater cleave, bulhead, dirty fighting and etc - all the skills essential for the warrior...

I just can't figure that - how one of the most magnificent classes (c-a-d the Fighter) in Baldur's Gate 1&2 and Icewind Dale, could be so pointless for only taking only 4 or 5 levels for him...

The only advantage of fighters is more feats. Once you know that you have or will get the feats you absolutely want you should multiclass to a Barbarian or Paladin depending on the alignment.

Your spellcasters should absolutely not change class. The main reason for keeping spellcasters "pure", even after reaching level 20+, is to keep improving the DC of their spells.

If for some reason you have a spellcaster whose main job is to cast spells which do not take DC into consideration, then you could also consider multiclassing that character. There is only one other exception to this that I can think of and that is to get one level of a class which gives you some very special advantages, like one Paladin level.
