A new RP, oh boy! Firstly, I'd like to say thanks for joining and training me for some RL DMing. Secondly, enjoy!

Some points I would like to make:
-any character (DnD, ADnD, Eberron, etc) of 1E, 2E, 3E or 3.5E is okay
-only 1st level characters to start, please. No half-dragon kensai or medusa archers to start with, okay?
-play nice

Warwic was a great adventurer in her day, so great that she created a small village and a dungeon to house and train her young apprenti adventurers. Due to Warwic's aging, she was unable to keep up with her ever advancing apprenti *and* the fresh faces cropping up in the village. She came upon an idea: magical letters of invite. These invitations would be sent via magic once a year to a small group of aspiring adventurers, posing the question of whether he/she wished further training in the arts of swordplay, stealth, the arcane and the divine.

 

Would a 2e dwarven cleric of Reorx (Dragonlance) be okay, or should I stick to FR?

Why did you have to be a half-orc? Dwarves are downright required to hate them, and Dala's not nearly experienced enough to have an enlightened view. *sigh* An RP challenge, I guess.

Woo, how are we making character stats, and can I join in? How strict are you with regards to irreverence?

 

I created my sorceror with a character generator I found generator, hope that helps

 

Well, I rolled my stats with dice, but I don't think you have to if you don't want to. Just make it realistic.

 

I already have a couple of spare characters, I just wondered if there was any protocol to follow. Do we start with any equipment?

 

Well, what do first level characters usually start with? You got the appropriate armor and weapons, and maybe one very minor magical item. My own only has the basic stuff: splint mail, a hammer, a sling, some sling bullets, and her religious symbol. Looking to buy a shield and a helmet, of course, but with only enough money for one.

 

Lovely. It's just that some games I have played, the GM has given you a set amount at the start, others, whatever equipment is appropriate. How does my chappie look?

 

Everything looks okay to me. I just didn't want uber powerful blokes and birds floating around. It's nice to start small, where running away is the first plan for a tough fight.

As for starting cash and equipment, think along the lines of 100 gold. It's enough to buy some armor and weapons, but nothing real fancy.

@Fel - Shurka was a barby I had rolled up and sitting in my character sheet drawer. Yes, I keep a neat little pile for just such emergencies. We'll try to get along, then. Shurka doesn't want any trouble.

 

Hrm... Well, it seems that the character thread has its fair share of rogues, so maybe I won't go with one. I was thinking about doing a young Kazdul, my favorite and most prized rp character, but maybe not...

Well, since there ARE so many rogues, perhaps I COULD make one and then we all could be a chivalrous band of thieves, stealing from the rich and giving to the needy kind of thing? I dunno... I'm lost and I can't come up with a character idea besides Kaz, so, help please?

 

@JiggaJay - Do what feels comfortable for you. I've played in worse parties, believe me, and this one has a cleric at least! A straight rogue would be cool, I think.

For anyone else interested - there's quite a few who can tank; basically everyone but the sorceress. Another healer-type maybe? Cleric or druid? Don't be shy.

 

Yeah, we'll need another one. My 3 CLWs aren't gonna keep everyone alive, and guess who's at the back of the list? I'm not too sure how Dala's going to be able to handle TWO half-orcs now, but I've got a couple of ideas that I'll discuss with Scot. I just hope one of them works...

Yeah, 3e is full of BS.

 

I happen to like 3e better--a LOT better than 2e. Just my opinion though...
