[IMG] This afternoon, I received the online notification that states that I have been accepted into Washington University at St. Louis, Missouri, class of 2009.

I am especially glad to hear this since it means the end of the college applications process, which has taken from SAT's to teacher recommendations to several college admissions essays, but also because Washington is a great school - ranked around tenth overall for schools in the United States.

Since my application is binding, I cannot go to another school in this year's fall, so it does mean that a lot of work has been in vain, but I am still very, very, very excited to have gotten into such a school.

When I read the title of this thread I thought it was something about smelly kids (i.e. some sort of drive to "Wash You" - but in silly talk).

I still don't understand all of what is in the that post (don't know what a "SAT" is or what 'tenth ranked school' means) but it sounds good so :thumb:

    Congrats, Oaz.

What other schools were you considering?

    Congrats Oaz!!!

I know what you've been through since I myself have recently finished my college applications. We might even become classmates since I've applied there as well(though it's unlikely since I severely messed up on my SATIIs).

Out of curiosity, what did you score on the SATI?

Congrats. I considered applying to Washington for graduate studies (PhD), but then decided not to due to deadline issues (darned deadlines!). Good luck!

I was considering Johns Hopkins, Emory, and the state university (University of Maryland), among a few others, but most of them are a bit obscure, except for Cornell and Hopkins.

Cornell was the first early decision, but I was deferred; Washington was the early decision II.

Hmmm, I'm thinking Cornell as well, but I still have 1 and a half years to think about it.... I just love everything about it though.

However, the deferments came in droves this year; One of my friends was deferred when he applied to Harvard, and the other deferred from Yale.
