On the level of watchers keep with the mage in the machine, what is the correct sequence to light the torches? After 2 hours of mixing and matching I finaly gave up and Ctrl-J to the other side...so any help for next time (even where to find the clues) would be greatly appreciated!

    Here they are
    Code:

    Left Right
    ---------------
    Red Blue
    Red Purple
    Purple Red
From DSimpsons walkthrough, cannot remember where to find (if anywhere) the clues, though..

Turn up the Contrast on your Options>Game Play. Playing around with the Contrast (Brightness might work, too) will show the colors on the floor. Those colors (iirc, they're in swirly patterns) are the order of how the light the torches.

If you look at the map screen, you'll see six triangles, three on the left, three on the right. Those triangles are colour coded to what colours each of the torches should be.

therefore do not try olimikrig's combination unless you see that on the floor

I do the left (red, red, purple) and right (blue, purple, red) and never noticed the colors on the floor until my fourth time through. My contrast was too dark for me to see them.

well, the colors are more or less randomly picked for each game.

I have had the colour sequence memorized for quite some time, the sequence olimikrig gave above is correct and it never changes.

I agree with JSBB and Oli*McRibb*. I have played that level too many times to remember, and it has always been the same. Just like on the walkthrough I once read on Game Banshee's website. :rolling:

Always the same for mine too.

    @Balle:
It's probably the result of a mod.

Always the same for me too. After all, the patterns on the floor, unclear as they are (my screen is untold ages old and pretty dark), don't change.

The correct pattern being "different each time" could be because there's a bug (do you have the patch?), either in the game or in the gamer's memory. Altzheimer's doesn't make you an idiot...

foolish, the correct colors are patched in pools of colored water on each side corresponding to the color oil you must use... its very obvious, i had more trouble breaking lum's glass (was it lum the mad?)
