What mods are good to install for normal first time game play?

I installed the official patch, ammo V1, Merchant, Ease of Use & Light of Selune.

On light of Selune I agreed to allow some heart of fury items in.

As I start Chapter One I have already aquired:

    +5 Spear
    +5 Dagger
    Battleaxe of Disruption +5
Milton Sixtoes Armor of Metal Oneness (+5 Studded Leather w/Mind Blank)
Asimars Aura (+3 Full Plate w/Prot. from Evil)
Silent but Lethal (+3 Composite Shortbow w/+4 Move Silently & +4 Hide)
2 pairs of Chimanders Warded Slippers (+5 Dex) one pair w/ +2 SR and various immunities)

My party is only level 2!

I figured this stuff was coming from the Light of Selune mod so I tried to uninstall it. It keeps getting errors. I can't uninstall any of the mods.

I think I will reinstall the game and start over.

So what mods should I install this time? I like the Ease of use type stuff. I just don't want the game to be to easy with all the high level magic items.

    Thanks for your help

[IMG] Make sure you haven't installed the Randomized Items component of Ease-of-use; it causes crashes and serious mod conflicts!
It's also Ease-of-use that gives the option to 'allow some HoF items', but in reality it completely replaces every item with HoF versions; not even the stores sell their normal items anymore. I advise you to uninstall that component. If it's uninstalled, the stores should sell normal items again. Just discard the overpowered HoF items you collected.

Silent but Lethal is a nice bow from LoS mod, which lasts your rogue through most of the game:D. It's not too overpowered.;)

Another reason why you may get errors when uninstalling, is that Ease-of-use is very old, and requires you manually update the WeiDU exe. How to do this? get it from http://www.weidu.org/~thebigg/WeiDU-Windows-210.zip. Take the file called WeiDU.exe and rename and replace it as Setup-IWD2-Ease.exe
Then run it by doubleclicking, and it will replace all other Setup-...exe files from other mods too!:)

Ease-of-use offers many tweaks and options which make it worthwhile, so if I were you, I'd go to the trouble!:thumb:

P.S.: All info you could possibly need on IWD2 mods is mentioned in my mod list. You'll find a link to IWD2_4dummies, which has an installation guide too.

[IMG] Hey, thanks for that info, coin. I'd been wondering for a while how to make the update. I hadn't found the information, so I was just sitting on it while I waited!

[IMG] You're welcome. Now I realize that I didn't give those specific instructions in my install guide... who says there's such a thing as too much info?:p
Actually, I must've read the instructions on a thread somewhere myself, maybe from theBigg somewhere...
