Both my Paladin and Minsc leveled up last night (to 12) whilst in Spellhold. I was a litle surprised to find that I could put a third star in any of their weapon proficiencies, including the "Two handed Weapon" style, although that only gives descriptions for adding a second star.
I know the Ease-of-use pack adds grand mastery for multi-class, but I didn't see mention of it for Paladin's and Rangers. I also don't see how I can put a third slot in two-handed style.
I can't think of any other mods I've installed that would affect this.
    Someone care to enlighten me?

    Edit:
    I loaded up a pre-saved game so they're still waiting to level-up.

Paladins and rangers aren't able to get more than two stars in weapon skills. Only fighters able to do it. That's the only special ability fighters have. Paladins and rangers have their own.

I know that's the theory, but as stated - when leveling up last night both my Paladin, and Minsc (a ranger) were able to put a third star in any of their (already two star) proficiencies

The Ease of Use mod allows fighters, paladins, rangers, barbarians, fighter multi-classes and ranger multi-classes to put up to 5 starts in any weapon proficiency. However, you should not place more than 2 stars in two handed weapon style. Not only is two the allowed maximum, put the program treats any more than two the same way it treats zero. So, while in theory you could put five stars into it, it will be like you have zero stars in it. Limit it to two. The same goes for the other fighting styles. You are allowed a maximum of two in single weapon style, two in sword and shield style and three in two weapon style. All the other weapon skills (long sword, short sword, etc.) are allowed the full five stars.

Thanks Aldeth, I had checked the description for Ease of Use, but it only mentioned muti-class (I had assumed fighters).

The mod simply removes the limitation on number of stars you can put in any weapon style or proficiency. Regardless of class or class-combo.
Putting more than ** in two handed weapon style is a waste as it provides you no benifits.
