some weapons are listed as 'only usable by', but others are listed as 'cannot be used by'. In the case of the latter, if you DC or MC to a Monk-Cleric, for example, would you be able to use the staff-mace? (which is 'not usable by monks')

I remember that you can not dual a monk, but for example mage/fighters (2nd lvl fighter/6th lvl mage, for example) can use bow. I think you can use all the noted armor and weapons, that the other class can use, with few exeptions (kensai can not use bracers or armor, mages can not cast spells in armor, thieves lose thieving skills after taking something heavier than studded leather and cleric weapon restrictions (a cleric/mage can not use dagger, for example))

My guess is on the staff-mace would be that a monk/cleric can use it but I'm not sure.
You can dual a monk but with som restrictions. Check the in game information on that.

[Edit] Sorry. I forgot I had left the IWD2 forum.

You've got the wrong game there, Daniel. You can't dual to monk in Baldurs Gate 2.

No, you can only play a single-classed Monk in SoA.

On a side note, there's also strength restrictions to weapons and armour. The funny thing is, you can boost a character's strength temporarily and equip the item, but once the strength boost wears off, you can still use the item. It appears with a red background but it remains equipped.
