So, I was using a bottle of industrial cleaner, and I noticed some small print on it that read "This spray bottle was proudly assembled by mentally and physically challenged people in Michigin".

So, after I stopped laughing, I started wondering what other odd labels are on things. Anyone wanna share?

On opposite sides of the same rather old Coke machine:
    'Great New Taste!'
    and 'Same Great Taste!'

@ Abomination - I got such a laugh out of that when I was visiting New Zealand that I took a photograph of an L&P bottle.

Read the microwave instructions for a package of poptarts. There's more than one step.

JSBB - I can't believe you have a photo of an L&P bottle!

By the way, that slogan has recently been updated to say "L&P - World Famous in New Zealand since AGES ago"

I hope you actually went Paeroa to see the giant L&P bottle there.

No I didn't see the giant L&P bottle. Our tour manager insisted that we all should try L&P so we all bought one at the next lunch stop.

I guess L&P is an acquired taste because I don't think any of us purchased a second bottle during the tour. However, we all got a good laugh at the slogan so I decided to take a picture.

On the other hand - I do miss that hokey-pokey ice cream. A bunch of us were gobbling it up every time we could find it.

I can't believe you can't get hokey pokey ice cream over there. Criminal.

If you think L&P is an 'acquired' test, how do you think we react when we first try crazy North American drinks like 'Dr Pepper'?

I agree, it is criminal that you can't get hokey-pokey ice cream here. I don't know why they don't sell it here - you can get just about every other flavour under the sun.

Oh and Dr Pepper is just plain bad regardless of where you are from.

Yes, drink Pepsi. It's much better. An odd label, kind of, is Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. *shudder*

Wart removal medicine- for external use only, do not put in eyes, etc.

On a bottle of Asprin- Do not take if you are allergic to asprin.

Just how dumb do they think we are?

There is a packet of purple Mentos lollies in the snack box at work which is clearly labelled: "For Sale in Indonesia Only"

No idea how it ended up in New Zealand, or what the consequences would be of me buying it and eating the contents.

You can believe me or not but I watched a program on Channel 4 a while ago, on this type of thing and I think it was in Denmark a chainsaw had the label "Not to be used for the other use".

I got myself some rusk the other day. The label said "best before 2017" so I threw them away, scared.

    @Ofelix:
On a peanut bag. Warning may contain nuts.

This is absolutely required statement. There are people allergic to nuts. If they ate nuts, their larynx walls would rapidly expand, thus cutting off oxygen, they would immediately sport a rash, and would have nausea and probably diarrhoea for a few days. Having eaten more nuts, they would most likely die of allergic shock.
Now this would of course be a funny label under one condition: if peanuts were nuts, and the label served as a warning after some idiot having eaten clearly labelled peanuts. But peanuts are beans, vegetables if you will. Thus the warning is completely legitimate, although would have been a lot better if it read something along the lines of: "Information to allergics: Warning, may contain traces of allergic strains of nuts." Enough to make people know there are allergic nuts and non-allergic nuts, without going down to details.

Toughluck, you do realize that PEANUT allergy is the most prevalent and sever of all the allergies you refer to, don't you?

Don't bandy semantics over the common misconception that peanuts are nuts and not legumes. That fine of a detail won't matter to most people who have to manage such an allergy - they'll simply avoid all such products to avoid the risk that some geek was trying to be clever and decided to split hairs with the package warning label.

Wow, I couldn't imagine being allergic to peanuts! I love peanuts, peanut butter, peanut brittle, goobers, and all other peanut related products! I'd be crushed if I couldn't eat them!

Oh, hehe. Friends of mine played an evil trick on another friend in school when we were watching a movie. Thus the room was dark.

The were eating chocolate bars, and one of them misread (on purpose, I have no doubt) the label as "Musriegel (puree chocoltate bar)" and offered him some. He tried it, he liked it and after 5 min he in an annoyed tone asked wether there were nuts in it because he got difficulties breathing. My other pal, full surprise, read it again finding it read in fact "Nussriegel (nut chocolate bar)

Kids. To my pals defense I have to add that that other fiend has nut icecream from time to time out of free will, because he likes it and that the symptoms are inconvenient but not dangerous. That is to say, they're still good friends.

And to be honest: I giggled too ... :heh:

@ Ragusa- what is a rusk? I dislike speaking English and not being able to understand what the hell an English-speaking person from another country is saying. It is quite annoying that American english has not evolved to the extent of other english speaking countries.
