Yeah, we need more WC topics!

All the teams have now had a chance to shine (USA!!! well played!) or not (Portugal, France, ), so who do you fancy for the cup?

Personally I've been impressed by Spain (but they won't win), Brazil (no defence) and Argentina. Can't judge Germany yet since Saudi are seriously 3rd world in football terms.

Who will win? The Azuri for me. Italy were outstanding, (Vieri is truly world class!),and the draw means they should have an easy(ish) run to the semi.

Anyone else?

 

My predictions!

Quarterfinals
Sweden vs Brasil 1-2
Germany vs Italy 0-1
Spain vs USA 3-0
Argentina vs Russia 3-0

Semifinals
Italy vs Spain 2-0
Brasil vs Argentina 1-3

Final
Italy vs Argentina 0-1

 

I agree with Earl Grey. Lots of people say that Italy will play te finals against Brazil, but I don't think Brazil wil make it that far. Italy will play the finals against Argentina.

I will have to put my money on gli azzuri too. They seem so secure, never making any mistakes and with a stronghold defence. I am not even going to mention their forwards. They have several more gears to put in than they showed against Ecuador. Argentina and France is my other favourites, I think France will raise after the Senegal debacle and when Zidane is back anything can happen.

 

Yeah, I agree that France will be good, but my prediction has Argentina beating France in the Round of 16.

Take a look at the teams Argentina will have played in case my prediction holds:
Nigeria, England, Sweden, France, Russia, Brasil and Italy. No pushovers in that list!

Earl just curious. You don't think France win group A? Or you think Sweden win group F? One of these has to be true to make your prediction right.

There are other interesting thoughts you've made. Since Spain most likely win their group
USA has to win their group too, for them to face Spain in the quarters. USA as group winners will indeed be exciting.

Personally I go for, France. Still.

I think both France and Sweden will place second in their respective groups.

I don't really know but I think that neither Brazil nor England stand any chances. I would go for Italy or Argentina.

Italy on this week-end's performance will NOT win the WC. What was that all about???

A little unlucky to lose perhaps, but still. Mexico playing well, Italy having to win? Hmm. This week will indeed be interesting. I think some big teams will fail.

Revised estimate: Brazil? Spain?
