[IMG] ok there is a post where a semi discussion has started about Canadian Beer. I was just wondering what everyone around the world drinks.

I personally like my Silent Sam Vodka and Coke, and occasional some Canadian whiskey and coke, or even once in a blue moon a Molson Canadian Beer.

What do they drink where your from and what's your fave?

P.S tried to return and put "what do you like to drink" in the topic but i cant :(

Well, Kit, vodka rocks is a presonal favorite of mine. Add a few lemon slices and some sugar crushed together before you add the vodka and rocks, stir, and you have a great drink. Otherwise, vodka and sprite is nice. Wiskey or Burboun with Coke is good for a change, and I really like all kinds of microbrews. My presonal favorite is brewed right here in Louisiana, of course: Abita Beer. I like any of their line, but Amber and Purple Haze are the all around best, but I just can't help from ordering the Turbo Dog either. That's about it for me.

Extremist you seem lika truly likable fellow.
Tuborg Green is the best beer in the world closely followed by Carlsberg Hof and Lapin Kulta. I like the light lager beer.

As for drinks im in to White and Black russian at the moment nice and refreshing drinks.

I prefer Foster's (lager) on a warm day, and Murphy's (stout) on any other day.

When it comes to booze or strong drinks, I never touch coctails, drink mixes or any blended stuff. Give me single malt whiskey, or give me nothing at all... :)

  6. As beer goes I prefer a Norwegian brand called Ringnes over all others, but if I have to choose a foreign beer it would have to be tuborg.

But if we're talking liquor there's only one for me and that is single malt whiskey (gotta go with you on that one PowerPuff)

The reason most people haven't heard of Canadian beer is that the good stuff, generally, isn't even bottled- you have to drink it fresh from the tap. Actually now that I think of it that's true of the best UK beers too- you can get Guinness and McEwans in bottles but why bother? It ain't the same.

Kitiara, I once did a brewery tour of BC with some friends from across the country in a big yellow taxi- we had a few cases of bottled Alberta beer in the trunk to keep us going in the motel rooms at night. That Vancouver Island brewery is amazing! The happiest moment of my life was when the guide said, "now let's just work our way through the taps from left to right"... no, the best part was when my friend said, "I'm pregnant, you drink mine..."

[IMG] I'm not the biggest beer fan, Sam Adams is OK but I mainly drink Hard Cider. Scunpy Jack is great, Cider Jack and Wood Chuck are also excellent. I also like Mike Hard Limonaid. A nice glass of wine is also good with dinner.

For mixed drink my favorite is Madori sour.

Beer tastes nasty, not to mention the terrible after-taste it leaves.

Cherry Coke all the way. :D

[IMG] I have to agree with Kit, Canadian beer is good stuff. Of course it's also the most readily available around here. If you want to try a great beer, pick-up some John Sleeman brands. My favourite is Honey-Brown followed by the Cream Ale.
I also drink Molson Canadian, but lately I've developed into more of a wine drinker. Give me a Siraz or Cabernet Sauvignon to sip.

    Rum and Coke

Plus I've tried a lot of different beers. There's a chain bar/resturant called Old Chicago in town that has over 110 different beers. Usually I'll get Fosters, Harp, or Guiness.

    Had to Add:

    Black & Tan's are great!

Never tasted Canadian beer, but I suppose there has to be a first for everything...

A fine bottle of red wine beats everything, of course. Preferably a nice Tempranillo; a spicy Spanish one perhaps? Hmmmm... I need to go shopping tomorrow... :)

Kitiara: Neither, it was called "The Vancouver Island Brewery" and it was in downtown Victoria. Maybe it's out of business now... this was 1996. They did an especially nice peach cider and the wheat beer was great too.

Oh, where do I start. Mostly I am into the really fancy drinks. Such as:

    Long Island Ice Tea
    Sex on the Beach
    Slow comfortable screw
    White Russian
    Strawberry Daquiri
    Buttery Niple
    Amaretto sour

I unfortunely really don't like beer. (unless I am already drunk) So I hop right into the hard liquor.

    Jack and coke
    7 and 7
    Rum and coke
Crown Royal and 7up or gengerale
    Voka and cranberry juice
Voka and grapefruit juice (known as a greyhound)
    Voka and orange juice (screwdriver)

No, I am not an alcoholic. But, I am Irish.
