I never played it but I heard that the werewolf was nothing but that the greater werewolf was just too powerfull so what do you think about it? and, do you think that you can play solo with it?

    thx

In the manual it says you can shapechange into a werewolf, but not a greater werewolf.

Also, soloing a druid is not such a good idea, as you need mage spells to unlock magically sealed doors or to detect traps.

But if you want to go for some variety, then why not try it for fun, although it's not likely you'll get far without theif, mage, and fighter's abilites, and summoning animals is not a s good as summoning monsters as they don't last long.

But then that's just my oppinion, I suppose it would be fun anfd challenging.

after level 13 you can change into greater werewolf once a day. One of my friends say summoning some bears and change to the werewolf packs a powerfull punch, never tried it myself though

[IMG] Avooch Dar finished soloing with a Shapeshifter a few days ago I believe. http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum2/HTML/002724.html

I suspect that Greater Werewolf is great in the early to mid game but that it might not be good enough against the really tough opponents later. Still waiting for Avooch Dar's reply to that question in the topic linked to above.
Druids will always have their spells to fall back on and being priests they have an ok THAC0 so I guess shapeshifting isn't that vital even to a Shapeshifter.

    - Herr'Don:
Traps and locks aren't as bad as you might think.
Most locks can be bashed open, with a potion of giant strength or something similar if necessary.
Traps may force you to reload a bit more often than usual if you aren't careful. A few soloing characters can't protect against some lethal traps but in those cases the traps can just be avoided.
