Other than sit pretty in my inventory and petting it once in a while?

I must admit that I have gone through my first time with PS:T without knowing what it is for?

Is it just a waste of $$$?

Wouldn't it be cool to have a lim-lim statue? There's a person in Fall-from-grace's brothel who can help you out.

ok, your lim lim is useful for a number of things, your lim lim will attack enemies and they wont attack it, cast certain spells on it and youve got an animal equalling a blood great big rotweiler, cast strength of one etc on him and then unleash him, he doesnt do that much damage but hes a welcome hand.
you can pet your lim lim, hit it etc.
in the brotherl make sure u have marissa's crimson veil and then start up the dialogue about what she looks like, choose the option "so you could say...turn a lim lim to stone" and shell reply that she could if sh had her crimson veil, give it to her and get the lim lim stoned. you will onyl ever get this dialogue option once so when u talk to her make sure you have the crimson veil.
take the lim lim the penn in the lower ward and you can use it as a pass to join the anarchists.

Familiars and monster/elemental summoning was real cool in BG; I kinda missed that in PS:T.

Remember to cast Zerthimon's Focus on it and watch it carve a bloody swathe through your enemies (One of the best spells for it's level, too)
