What does curse do

I ran a search on this but didn't find it. What effect does curse have on my characters. I noticed in IWDII they get cursed quite a bit. At least in the earlier part of the game. I see no effect on their actions. It doesn't last long. In one game I tried removing it with a 'remove curse' potion and also spell. Nothing happened. Now I just ignore.

 

Check the information book that came with the game for spells like chant and prayer because those supposedly give a +1 to allies and -1 to enemies and up to saving throw, attack, etc... And when those spells are in effect i think the icon is labelled as cursed. The Orc Shamans used spells like that and Aid a lot around Shaengarne Bridge and the Horde Fortress.I'm not sure of the specifics though because i left my book at my other house

 

IIRC, the spell 'Curse' is the opposite of 'Bless.' Instead of giving your party +1 to thac0 and damage rolls, it gives all your opponents a -1. The 'remove curse' spell has nothing to do with the spell 'curse.' It allows you to remove a cursed item. Feel free to ignore it; it's a pretty lame spell, and I don't believe multiple castings stack the effect (ie, an Orc Shaman casting it 3 times won't give you -3 to your rolls).

 

You're better off blessing yourself and sometimes even the cleric's mace arm helped by holy power profits you more.

I think you mean 'ignorance?' Otherwise you should say "Somebody tell me what IIRC means, you morons!" That's insolence.
