I read all about luck in the game, but have no idea what it actually does.

    TIA

It increases all of your rolls by +1 (but not above the maximum amount for that roll).

So, on a 1d8 die roll, you could ACTUALLY roll anything from a 2 to an 8.

However, I don't believe it has any effect on critical misses.

A few things I have noticed:
    1) It does not stop 1s on D20 rolls (e.g. saving throws, critical misses, etc...)
    2) It does not add to the "extra" damage a weapon does, i.e. a sword that does +d6 fire damage will still do 1-6 fire damage - it will not be modified by luck.

@Da Rock: Are you sure that it don't stop critical misses? My decoy often got ones on saving throws before my bard joined the party and learned the luck song. After that he just couldn't throw fritical misses (which meant that he just couldn't miss a save against my blasting). Was I just lucky after I added the bard??

Yes I thought luck also allowed people to avoid critical misses and fumbles.

And Mudde, adding a bard is hardly a bad idea, they sure help party. Just look at the party's saving throws after the bard sings one particular song. :)

    +1 from Luck spell
    +1from Bard Song
    +3 from Tymora's Loop
    +2 from Ned's Lucky Knucky (I think...)

If you cast a Fireball...its does MAX damage!! :) Try it out and see for your self...

Having your rolls modded towards the higher end is no joke!!

Luck didn't effect spells like "bull's strength" and "eagle's splendor" in my game however.

I'm not sure about the Luck spell, or Tymora's Melody song, but I wielded a Tymora's Loop ring and Ned's Lucky Knucky. Despite my rolls being 7-20, I still got 1s (critical misses).

I've also noticed that Bards seem to be luckier in general. I usually use one in HoF mode, carrying "Death's Bane" (which heals d4 points) - the Bard never seems to heal less than 3 points, while other characters wielding the weapon rarely heal 4 points.

@kmonster: Probly only affects offensive spell rolls, attack rolls and saving throw rolls then...I got this effect quite a few times!!

It helps healing spells! At least the bard song gives higher average heal spells and those lvl 1 healing berries a druid can make heals 2-4 with that song on.

Doesn't Ned's Lucky Knucky just give +1 to Saving Throws?

@klorox: The Hof-mode version (young Ned's lucky knucky IIRC) gives luck bonus.
