It is gone. But you still retain the HP bonus. You can summon it again and gain the HP bonus again too. Sweet. :)

Are you sure you retain the HP?

I didn't check, but I thought one didn't get the extra HP. Anyway a bit cheesy I think, nice glitch :) . Normally when you import your HP gets flatten out, or perhaps it ain't so?

Considering all other bonuses you gain by finishing BG1+ToTSC, such as ability score boosts, much higher XP and a lot of more spells in the book, plus Golden Pantaloons ofcourse, it is not that much cheesy IMHO. It is easy to fix via SK but I never bothered with it. :)

My char had the exact samE HP upon importing to BG2, IIRC.

I've never tried it, but I've heard that there's a glitch that lets you start a new game, summon a familiar, export that character, start a new game, summon a familiar (etc, etc) to get a ridiculously high number of hp.

Given this I reckon you'd loose the familiar, keep the hp an be able to cast it again.

Yes, this is in the Book of Cheese (found here in SP). Since the game sees it as an item when it's in your pack and as summoned item when it's out, it, quite simply, won't be there when you start a new game. But the extra hp will, since it's permanent and the makers didn't realise it could be abused in this way.

the flattening out of your hitpoints only counts to like your hitpoints rolled by dice and things like that because I do believe it rerolls them. Which is a pain in the butt if you have like say a fighter with a hundred something hitpoints because you were careful/obsessive/lucky enough to get all 14-15's all through the leveling up process you actually lose a bunch because your basically guaranteed to get average rolls. I've lost like 20 hitpoints because of it.

On the flip side to all this, if you start BG2 with a new character, you get 6 extra hitpoints at creation, anyway. Since a reasonable wisdom (for wish), (not necessarily) dex, and con are the only stats a sorcerer really needs (there are no experience bonuses in BG2 for high stats and a sorcerers spellcasting is not tied to them, either) those extra stat tomes don't really do anything for a sorcerer (and definitely aren't worth 6 hitpoints).

About your hitpoints being rerolled on starting a new game: Set the game to easy before starting a new game. Then import your character and start the game, and you'll have maximum hitpoints (on easy you'll always get max hitpoints on a level up). You can then set the difficulty to anything you like again.
