Unreal Tournament 2003 all the way. "Frag em up!"
I can't wait for 2004. There will be flying vehicles with weapons! And the graphics are simply amazing from what I've seen of previews and such.

I liked UT, but UT2k3 I didn't care for at all. I think I played about 15 minutes of the demo, and chucked it.

The Thief games were good, but they were more sneaksie than shootsie.

Um. Maybe Medal of Honor or Jedi Academy.

Well I play but one FPS, so I'd say Jedi Academy.

Time Crisis or the Die Hard Trilogy (the second ones an FPS). For both these games you have to use a light gun.

If you use a light gun, then it isnt a first person shooter, for me its Dues Ex and System Shock 2, 2 of the deepest almost RPGish FPS out there.

I still occassionally like to play the original Wolfenstein. Sure the graphics and sound are very crude by modern standards and the gameplay is simplistic compared to modern shooters but there is something very charming about Wolfenstein's simplicity and attitude. Hitler's Death Cam shot is always good for a chuckle.

My second favorite would have to be the original Dark Forces. The game had excellent gameplay and I really liked the level designs a lot more then those found in the sequals.

Perfect Dark, though I'm sure it would be System Shock if I had ever played it. Or maybe it would be Marathon if I had played that...

Most FPS bore me to death unless its from the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight Series. The only exception is Counterstrike, but even that doesn't compare.

I'm with you, Big B. No amount of bazookas and frag-a-thons compares to light saber swingin' goodness.

    :tie: :D :tie:

Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast had the better story by far, but Jedi Acadamy has more character options and definitely better combat. Both are fun as hell.

I have UT2003 and I really like it. The main reason is because I have my 450 watt stereo hooked up to my computer and whenever I shoot I get a blast of air in my face. Hey, it's more expensive than air conditioning. :D

I really liked Wolfenstein 2001. The game was deep (for an FPS) and there was a wide array of realistic guns. Everything from Panzerfausts to a mini-gun to a sniper rifle that's silenced and has night-vision. The multi-player is GREAT!

I didn't like System Shock 2. The first one was better.

I'm surpirsed nobody said Half-Life. It's one of my favs.

The first Unreal and UT are great too.

Heretic was in a league of it's own.

I forget the name, but there was a game that used to Quake engine and was set in Japan or something. You were a Samurai and you could use Katanas and stuff.

A good one (even though not technically a FPS) is the Hitman series.

    I think that's enough. :p

Doom 2 for DOS and 007: Goldeneye and Perfect Dark for N64. Yes, I know these are old and I can't even remember the commands to start Doom on my mom's old computer, way back in 1996... But otherwise I have never found a shooter I liked better than Goleneye and Perfect Dark, mainly because I only have a N64 and I spend my money on p-ball and RPG's, but that's another story.

The only thing that I dont appreciate about Unreal Tournament is that you might as well not even bother trying to play online multiplayer. Especially so if you have dial-up.

Well, I'm about 2 years behind on FPS's, but of the ones I've played, System Shock 2 would be the best; it's the only FPS I've played more than once. I just liked the RPG elements. Oddly, I didn't really like Deus Ex, because even though it had RPG elements, it still felt like a plain FPS.
I also liked No One Live Forever, but I think the sequel will be better (need to upgrade my computer first, though).
