In Targos, I picked the the pockets of the elf enchantress, her husband, Oswald, and the two clerics in the tent. They all had some pretty decent stuff.

Who else in this game has pockets worth pickin?

    TIA

Dont forget the lucky knucky in the Dierdre's shop. Also, Kickshaw has a potion of luck. You can also get that wolfcharm for free as well as a bottle of Braehg (sp?) which is required for a quest from the barbarian trader.

Most other people have a bit of gold at least so I normally steal from everything that is not an enemy.

I didn't really get anything of use. Minor gold, minor potion or so, nothing really useful. Stopped picking pockets as I thought it took up more time in game play than it was worth. Anyone experience anything else? Did I get this wrong?

It's handy at the beginning (when you're level 1 every extra item is worth the trouble), I tend to agree that the more you progress through the game the less it helps (why pickpocket when you can go on a killing spree).

Well, for one thing, it's hard to try to pickpocket an enemy that's already gone hostile. Oh, maybe it can be done, but what's really the point. Pickpocketing seems to be a skill that more appropriate to an area where the NPC's aren't hostile. I'd guess that PP-ing is more useful in BG2 where there's an entire city of NPC's just waiting for you to exploit.

When you are about to leave the city, summon demons and go nuts!! Atleast, that's what I do in Baldurs Gate 2...and IWD2 HoF mode as well...

That's dangerous. When Oswald gets hostile the game is over for example. And he can even get hostile when you fight someone in another building, so you might create a savegame with no way out.

But if you summon demons that are not under your control, then why would people go hostile at you?

    Realism... ha! ;)

I'm pretty sure nobody goes hostile if you summon a demon. It's a tactic I've heard of used to get the Lucky Nucky in HoF.

It didn't work when I summoned an elemental.

b/c an elemental is under you control. A demon is not.

^IIRC you can not control summoned elementals in IWD2, they attack closest target without pro from evil, just like demons, this is one of the many reasons why druids suck in the game: they get to summon hordes of cool elementals who attack the druid himself since the poor sod does not have pro from evil spell!

You can control them freely in IWD though.

Well, it's certainly tough on druids at higher levels when most of the "animals" summoned by the Summon Nature's Ally spells (say SNA 7, 8, and 9) usually seem to just summon elementals.

Elementals aren't all that bad, even uncontrolled. It's the need to cast a MCvEvil spell that druids don't have that's a pain.

An uncontrolled Elemental or Demon isn't such a bad summons, as long as you are protected from evil. In bigger battles with lots of enemies, an uncontrolled Elemental or Demon can completely wreak havoc in the enemy's rear. Just drop one next to good ol' Saablic Tan and let the fun begin!!! :)

The idea of using a gated demon to "pickpocket" the Lucky Knucky was an idea that built on a FALSE assumption that townspeople wouldn't be able to deduce the culprit for the mayhem. They actually do and that's game over for you since you can't talk to Oswald afterwards to advance the story.
