What to Give Jaheira?

If I am plying with Jaheira what should I equip her with. The way I see it I can give her a great AC with shields but limit her pucnh due to poor weapon selection. Or.... I can sacrifice a little AC for better weapons (i.e. quarterstaves +4, etc.) There don't seem to be any good one handed weapons for her to use except possibly the Sling +5 which limits her usefulness as a tank. So what to do? I did give her the Gauntlets of Ogre Power so she is capable of melee.

Any suggestions on how to equip Jaheira?

 

I think you´ll get a scimitar+5 later on...

 

in trademeet there is a club called blackblood or something, I think it is +2 or +3, and then some additional acid damage (or poisen) cant remember that too
You can steal it from the merchant who has iy.
There also is the scimitar of belm (only read about it), it should give you an extra attack and can be found SPOILER Ahead

In the ogremage tower in the druid grove area (the tower left of the rakshasha house)

Later I gave her the staff of woodlands, you get it late in the game

Where is a Scmitar +5? I know Drizzt carries two scmitars but they are + 3 and +2, +3 AC or something like that. I have never heard of a scmitar +5.

drizzt scimitar defender is called +5, though its only +3 and +2 ac, you have to good alignment to use it though

So the best I can give her is the Staff of Rynn +4 (no shield) or some +3 weapon (club, scmitar, etc.) with a shield?

 

- The Sentinel,
- A strength-increasing girdle/gauntlets
- Sling of seeking
- Flail of the Ages?

= Low AC good melee and one-one fighting.

 

And if you're of good alignment, you'll never get your hands on Drizzt's scimitars...!
I never found an OgreMage tower?! Hmmm.... Maybe this time through....

 

well, there isn't an ogremage in the tower unless you play the gong quest, ehm, use the limited wish and pick an one time wish and choose the adventure like never before (or something like that)

 

You can also give her a one-handed staff that I found/bought somewhere in the main city. It requires staff skills but uses only one hand! The other weapon I gave her is a sling +2 with bullets +1/+2. Decked her out with ankheg plate mail and a large shield _2 and now her AC is -6!!

I don't feel I can add anything more to that, but I was just wandering why do you use Jaheira as a tank? Can't you use Keldorn, or Minsc?
About the equipment I'd probably suggest the staff or ryn as a weapon, or a Staff Mace + 2(that's an 1-handed staff, which inflicts the same dmg as a mace), or a club (somewhere in druid grove u should find one).

 

Jaheira needs a shield to be a proper Tank! Otherwise her AC is to high, she can't have that!

 

I use minsc and keldorn as my primary tanks. I gave them boots of speed, so now they're running first into the battle, next I have jaheira and aerie. But Jaheira can be a rather nice frontline fighter with low AC and stoneskin

 

Staff of Arundel +3 can be bought from Joluv in the Copper Coronet if you have installed the extra merchants.
It gives an extra 5th and 6th level spell to a druid.

The best weapon for Jaheira is the Club +3, Blackblood (as has been said by several posters already). It is blunt, +3 and deals an extra +3 acid damage on a hit.

Try to give Jaheira a shield! Shield of Harmony +2 is nice. Sentinel +4 is also good.

Girdle of Hill Giant Strength from the Adventurer's Mart is a good buy for Jaheira.

 

Don't forget there is also a useful scimitar on the druid quest that gives you two attacks per round. It is only +2 but the extra attack is useful. I normally use this plus all the protection I can give her (AC -12/13). I see her role as holding the line while my spell casters do the real damage. I also let her carry the +4 staff mentioned above for those nasties that need better than a +2 to hit. Of course she loses the shield protection during those battles but we all have to make sacrifices. Besides if you get her to cast Ironskins she can survive a bit without the shield.

 

Just my 2c on that one:

- Spear of Withering +4, +4 poison damage - it did wonders in Jaheira's hands - she killed all the liches with it.

But for regular enemies Nightal's advice is the best.

 

Oooh oooh - I wanna vote. I like her with lots of armour and a big honking shield behind which she swings the +3 club Blackblood (I think that's the right name). She also does well with gnasher - it's only +2 but does splinter based "poison" damage.
