Okay every time I play the game a guy comes out of nowhere and whips a scimitar at my head, then it becomes my weapon and then he's gone.

    what IS that?

The character, Habib, was one of the winners of a contest Interplay held prior to the game's release. It's simply a cameo, nothing more. Details on some of the other contestants can be found here: http://www.interplay.com/bgate2/bg2conwin.html

:D That guy was one of the greatest mysteries I found in BG2, and also the funniest... :shake:

BTW: Never knew what it was though....

Of all the things to die from in a solo tactics run... I'm sorry Sarevok-, but that's one of the funnier stories I've heard: Habib, the mighty bhaalspawn slayer. :D

    Fatal coincidence...

Interesting, I have played SoA many times, and Habib always came only once.

is it possible to kill this guy?
I tried to magic missile him once but after six blasts, the man is still standing, busy it appears.
So, if it is possible, will his death cause any problems in the game? ie. reputation...etc

He sometimes throws money at me, if I'm visiting a temple.

I believe he actually shows up twice. In the docks to throw his scimitar. Then in the Temple of Ilmater to throw money. I have killed him before. As soon as he appeared, I paused the game, commanded all my NPCs to maneuver around him so he was trapped, then pounded on him. You have to move quick tho, because he will eventually just disappear anyways. Killing him doesn't hurt you in any way that I can remember, and I don't even recall if he was worth any XP (at least anything halfway significant). I THINK that killing him does yeild another scimitar tho. :)

He generally spawns at the north exit from the slums or east exit in the docks. If you are quick enough then he is killable in melee. This leads to no loss of reputation and you get his Scimtar.

He also offers tithe in the temples in Athkathla (though I guess he's too afraid to go to the temple district). There are quite a few people who have had the same experiance as Sarevork-.

Just go kill the pest when you first spot him.
