Where is Aran's key (Thieves' Guild secret area)

    [​IMG] Did I just miss it? I paid Gaelan his fee and he sent me off to the secret room in the Thieves' Guild, off to the right in the main entrance.

    But I have no way to get through the locked secret door.

    I cleared Nalia's Keep after entering Chapter 3, so I really have forgotten if I originally had a key when I left Gaelan's place or what. Now I apprear to be locked out of Aran's lair.

    Any suggestions??

    When you paid Galean Bayle, he gave you the key to enter the Shadow Thief's Secret Door.

    I hope your key is not lost... else, I don't know how you can complete the main quest... Did you try the spell unlock ?? But, I guess it doesn't work.

    The last solution is to use Shadow Keeper to edit your party. But that solution is cheating...

    Well, at this point it's either cheating or a load of frustration. Use shadow keeper or go back to a saved game long, long ago. I think the choices are either cheat or quit at this point for him. And what is with the rash of posts on cheating lately. Come on. I think in this case I'd cheat as well. He has no other way to move on in the game unless he lucks up upon the key again.

    He could choose to help the vampires, though, just tell Linval off for having a locked secret door. Who ever heard of such a thing :)

    [​IMG] Thanks guys, I resorted to ShadowKeeper and "planted" a key on my lead character. Guess what?? Still locked! A strange thing indeed ...

    LUCKILY, there are two alternate entrances to Linval's lair. One at the eastern edge of town, kinda overlooking the docks. The other is more convenient, on the southern edge of the guild itself, 2nd storey.
