where is the rod?

    After I agreed to investigate the cult of the unseeing eye for the cleric of Helm, I went into the sewers. After speaking with Sassar, the former high priest of the beholder, I agreed to find a piece of a rod to destroy the beholder. I went below as Sassar asked me to do. After I went over a bridge with riddles I eventually came to a temple with a creature inside that cannot be destroyed. But where is the rod or how do I
    get it? Can anyone help me with this?

    P.S. If I finish this quest can I become a priest of Helm and get the temple in the Temple District of Atkathla as my stronghold?

    Actually the creature inside can be destroyed... Must be destroyed if you want to continue the quest.
    Hint: A creature that feeds on hate and destruction might need a bit of a healing touch to be disposed of. ;)

    After that, you'll get the first part of the rod. You'll find the second one in the Unseeing Eye lair.

    I had my two mages cast almost all of their spells on the creature... The creature couldn't harm my characters much though...
    I know I spent a long time trying to find something, when Keldorn suddenly found... (No spoilers...!)
