Where's Scar?

So I have Bgtutu and I got to Baldur's Gate. I meet Scar at the bridge and he asks me to check out the Seven Suns. I accept, but I did some other subquests first. When I went to the Flaming Fist Castle I gave Fergus (?) his angel skin ring for his girl, and talked to Scar again who stood just inside. I told him I was about to go to the seven suns and left. I go inside the building, talk to the scared merchant and go downstairs to kill the one doppleganger and free Jhasso. He explains some things, leaves and I go back upstairs, keep talking to the two "merchants" untill they crack and confess they're dopplegangers. But when they want to change to their doppleganger-avater,
it doesn't work. I mean they start "boiling" or so, flames and stuff, but their disguise doesn't fall of. So I force-attack them, idem to those upstairs. When I get outside, a female Flaming Fist soldier demands I go to see Scar at the FF castle, but when I get there, he's nowhere to be seen. I tried several times, even when I didn't went inside the Seven suns, but he stays gone. Does someone know what to do? I don't know if CLUAconsoling him in is a good idea, because some discouraged me typing the debug mode thing, because of Bgtutu wouldn't work. Anything else? Thanks.

 

That's a problem. That never happened to me with BGTutu. He certainly SHOULD be in the exact same place that he was intially - just inside the compound. It should make absolutely no difference that you completed some other quests first - I know I've done that before completing his mission.

 

What also strikes me as weird is the fact that those merchant don't change in dopplegangers and don't become hostile. If someone could tell me the CLUAconsole command to make Scar appear, I could give it a try and hope Bgtutu doesn't crash because of the Debug Mode line you have to change.

 

Actually, you may be onto something there. The fact that the merchants don't change may be the problem. In other words, because you can't properly complete that quest may be the reason Scar doesn't show up. Hmmm... I don't know enough about the game codings to know how to fix it however...

 

I've had the disappearing Scar problem once before but that was without Tutu. I seem to think I attacked the false merchants (even though they were non-hostile at the time) and afterwards Scar turned up. Sometimes he seems to be in a slightly different place: in the entrance to the Flaming Fist HQ, a bit further along the corridor, in the main room, or lurking outside the whole building very close to where you find Tiax.

 

Well, I really looked everywhere in the castle and he wasn't there. But the fact that the lady soldier turns up means that the game seems to think that I finished the quest. Maybe I should try the CLUAconsole command to summon Scar, but I don't know the code. Anyone with something usefull, please show up...
