My Stalker can wear the Corthala family Armor and equip the Corthala family Katana. After, finishing Valygar's quest I took his Armor and Katana and just ditched him. Then, I killed Thaxll'ssilliya (sp?), took his scales and forged it into an armor. So here's the question: Which one's better? The Corthala armor or the Shadow Dragon one? The Corthala family armor gives 25 resistance to Fire, Acid and Magic and
it gives me immunity to charm while the Shadow Dragon armor gives 50 resistance to acid and is 1 AC better than the Corthala armor.

For only one AC different and a little acid resistance? i'd go for the Corthala family armor if you can wear it. More protections that make up for what little that you lose.

Fire Resistance comes into play quite a bit and that magic resistance might not seem like much but it can help.

Shadow scale, imo, as the lower AC is better. The resistances can be found through other means (spells, potions, other equipment).

I'd go for the Corthala armour, personally. Mainly this is because I hate switching around helmets etc. so I'd rather have Corthala + Helm of Balduran than Shadow Scale + Helm of Charm Protection. After all, that combination (Corthala's + HoB) nets you the same AC but better THAC0, some bonus hit points and (imo) more useful resistances. But it's up to you, really, as to whether you can be bothered to switch around you equipment, and what other stuff you use.

Corthala armor is better, when do you ever face serious acid damage? I can not say many times. (That is another story, if you do have tactics mod and enable Kuroisan! ) That 1 AC can easily be overlooked, or with other items you can compansate it. If nothing else, cast a Spirit Armor on your PC, it will set base AC to 1 and also give +3 save vs spells which is extra useful. That lousy 25 fire and magic damage resistance can really help IMHO, and charm protection is welcome, you can ditch helmet of charm protection for something more useful, like helm of Balduran.

So Corthala has 3 votes and Shadowscale only 1? What are you going to decide eventually?

Corthala would be my choice too, the one AC point isn't worth as much as the better resistances.

Or you could install the items upgrade mod and combine the two into one very nifty suit of armour.

Valygar's dead. he don't need them and I needed to get into that sphere to thwart the nasty mages.

Heck I washed the armor off before I actually put it on! what more do you want from me?! ~breaks down in tears~

Shame on you, burying people without their clothes... Or did you just leave him naked? Bad starwalker, you :)
Actually, I haven't worn the armor but yeah, I'd say it is better than the shadow scale. I think at least one mod allowed you to combine both, though... THAT was some leather armor.

[IMG] Weimer's ItemUpgrade mod allows for that.
