Who should be my pickup tank?

    Korgan just died (I'm in Chapter 6, and this is a no-reloads game). He was chunkified (by my own party... long story), and now my party needs a new tank.

    Here's my current party:
    Gnick O'Thyme, Gnome Cleric/Illusionist
    Jaheira
    Imoen
    Keldorn
    Valygar

    The party ranges from levels 13-15.

    Here are the people I've considered so far:
    Minsc (He's level 8 though)
    Anomen (I think he's level 8 or 9, I picked him up briefly after exiting the first dungeon)
    Mazzy (she'll spawn at level 12, I think. I think Mazzy can be a great tank, but she'll take a while to get there (I'd have her dual-weild with Crom Faeyr in the offhand).

    If I reach ToB, Sarevok would be the obvious answer, but I've only just exited the Underdark, and I need a stand-in (at least) for quite some time! Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

    That's pretty rough, losing a key tank so far into the game.

    In my mind it's between minsc and mazzy, since you don't need another healer. And in this case, I'd go with Mazzy since Misnc is so far behind in XP.

    Aye, Mazzy's the best choice. It's just a shame you didn't get her and Korgan together; it's pretty funny. :grin:

    Fantastic name! :lol:

    Jaheira could do the tanking. If it's only for a short term replacement perhaps it would be doable with only 5 characters. Bearing in mind that this is a no reload game adding Mazzy could be a solution however.

    Pick Mazzy...give her Short Sword of the Mask and a big shield to hide behind...she'll tear your opponents apart...in a very cute and lady-like way! :D

    Normally I'd advise Anomen as, despite his moaning and boasting, he is a very powerful character. However, as you already have two characters ready to use Divine magic, in this case I suggest Mazzy. Minsc isn't really any more effective than her and is a lower level.

    In short: pick up the halfling lass.

    I think I will pick up Mazzy. I'm going to build her towards dual-weilding (Crom Faeyr in the offhand, eventually an axe as her main hand weapon), and hope for the best. With an 18 DEX, the lack of a shield shouldn't be too bad. She's got great saving throws, and will have a 25 STR!
